Actually it is.

There is a difference between offensive and defensive in that situation. They went over it in the studio after the game.

Basically the rule says that it is a handball if it hits an offensive players hand/arm (regardless of intent) if the subsequent player to touch it is an offensive player and it leads directly to a goal.

Handball. From the EPL:

Quote:
An accidental handball by an attacking player or team-mate will only be penalised if it occurs immediately before a goal or a goalscoring opportunity.

If an attacking player accidentally touches the ball with their hand or arm and then scores a goal, or the ball goes to another attacking player and they immediately score, this is a handball offence.

But it is not a handball offence if after an accidental handball the ball travels some distance via a pass or a dribble, or there are several passes before the goal or goalscoring opportunity.


Defensively if there is no intent and the ball hits an arm by the side (not extended) it would not be a hand ball.

This is epic - the accuracy of the recreation is amazing including the facial features and celebrations. Watch Kane's little hop after his goal and Bale's backwards run with arms raised after his second goal. Too funny.

Strong lineup - not all starting but there is no youth on the bench this lineup suggests an all out effort here.

Dele, Lamela, Son and Kane up front. With Bale, Vinicius, Lucas all available as subs.

GOAL!!!!!

Kane off a rebound in front - Lamela in the middle made a nice move and got a great shot with the outside of his off foot but it hit the post and came out to Kane who finished.

Bale with a long free kick that was on target, goalie punched it away.


With a 2-0 home win we need to just keep it within 1 on the road leg. Win, tie or lose by one and Spurs go through.
