Is it me or are the Grizzlies starting to play better despite all their injuries?

When they aren't playing teams in the SW division…


Zach and Conley have been playing well.

With Bayless getting traded, it could get ugly with Calathes as a backup PG.

Also, if C. Lee doesn't get cleared by the Spurs game, and if Tony Allen isn't healthy, that Spurs game could get real ugly (it could get real ugly if they are all there).

Since waiving Seth Curry and sending Franklin to D-League, the Grizzlies could be rolling with this against the Spurs.

Having Mike Miller and Prince out there on the perimeter together would be great if it was 2005.

Only down 12 at half to the Spurs.

I am shocked it got to overtime.

Well that is about what I expected.

ALl game Grizzlies were down 12-15, then would make a run to get it down to 5-7, then the Spurs would turn the water off, and move the lead back to 12.

I think there were some positives, but the Grizz final run was a fluke, IMO.


I think the only guys playing tonight from the Grizzlies that played in the 2011 playoffs against the Spurs were Conley and ZBo. That's a lot of turnover, even if you include the injured Tony Allen and Marc Gasol.

Last night they leaped the pelicans in the wc playoff race to get to 11th.

While still a little depressing, it least it is movement in the right direction, especially with the Suns coming back down to earth.

Neat-o Stat: in last 30 meetings of Grizz/Thunder, series is tied 15-15 with both teams scoring the same number of pts.

Gasol back. Courtney Lee has been a very nice addition.

Official Marc Davis continues to find ways to make both teams confused and frustrated with his calls.

I can't stand seeing Prince playing over 25 minutes, much less over 30. Mike Miller isn't much better. Courtney Lee needs more time.

And, the Memphis Tigers played the Houston Cougars on Thursday.

It will be Houston v Memphis 3 nights in a row.




Unfortunately, Tony Brothers is in the house tonight.

Big 2 wins there with Houston.

Now Tuesday night late night test against Portland.

Always interesting when ZBo goes back to Portland, especially during the All-Star stretch.

I know there is still plenty of game left to be played, but wow what a great first half against the Blazers.

Randolph always seems to play well during the All-Star discussions.

Cautiously optimistic with the 20 point lead. That blown Clippers lead in playoffs never makes me too confident with a lead.


Prince just irritates me to no end.

The return of Marc Gasol combined with the addition of Courtney Lee have made a huge difference.



I keep expecting the lead to get down to 12, but so far they have kept responding.

Zach Randolph scored 23 points and had 10 rebounds in the Memphis Grizzlies' win over the Portland Trail Blazers. It was the fifth time in his career that Randolph had a 20/10 game against his former team. He did it once for the New York Knicks, once for the Los Angeles Clippers and three times for the Grizzlies. That ties him with Maurice Lucas for the most 20/10 games against the Blazers by a former Portland player.

Team is really starting to come together. Half a game back of 8th.

Iowa, I am a little surprised with how well the Grizzlies are playing right now. I am even considering going to the game in OKC on Monday.
