Given there is a 3 way tie for 7th, with the teams all having a remaining game against each other, I still like their chances, but that probably means a quick exit in the first round if it is the Spurs.

And I would guess 7th before 9th.

*The Spurs play a fairly significant role in all this, and they have to be thinking about who do they want to play in the first round. Given the choices & knowledge that they have little fear of any of those 3 options, I would think they would least want to face a physical matchup with the Grizzlies & prefer a finesse Mavs or Suns team.

I could see Pop benching players for the Suns or Dallas game since it is a B2B (but Suns at home).

After seeing the running in mud Grizzlies play these last 5 games, I'm looking forward to this Spurs game about as much as one could look forward to having an enema.

Didn't catch the game, but it went about as well as I expected.

I think if I were the Spurs, I would be more concerned about the energy, shooting, and enthusiasm of the Suns vs. whatever the funk the Grizzlies have been putting on the floor lately.

I think this is how this plays out.

If Grizz lose to Suns, Mavs have 7 wrapped up, and would sit Dirk in that home finale, or at least reduce his minutes.

If Grizz win, the game against Mavs is basically just for 7.


However, with GSW loss last night in Portland in OT, a Grizz win and a GSW loss tonight would put a 3-way tie in for 6th.

Win tonight and worry about the permutations later.

Marc Gasol has really rubbed off on Randolph.

I swear every game they have to try a crazy pass to someone cutting to the rim. Last game it was Gasol to James Johnson with the extra spin on the bounce pass.

It's not even close, IMO: OKC, although Grizz are clearly an underdog in both.

Since the 2011 playoffs when Griz beat Spurs in 7 and lost to OKC in 6.

SAS: 2-14, and some of those weren't even close
OKC: 8-8


They just match up better with OKC. The normally worthless Tayshaun Prince can match up with Durant a little bit, so he is only slightly worthless. Ditto on Tony Allen.

At the end of the day though, if they are going to call touch fouls (or even almost a touch foul) on the perimeter for Durant, and he gets 18+ trips to the line, OKC is too touch to beat.
