This show is always bad, but I don't think I've ever seen it be this bad.

Should've tanked harder.

I was really hoping to see the mavs end up with either the guy from Arizona or mo bamba.

Now...... we probably end up a guard. Ugh.

So Ayton, Doncic and Jackson most likely won't be there when we pick.

Who else? One more. Bagley? That leaves Porter and Bamba.

There's a small chance Bamba falls to 5

Who the Mavs ultimately pick depends on:

• Porter - how does his back check out medically (he may be off the board)
• Bamba - No brainer pick if he's there
• Bagley - Option 2 if he's there (unlikely)
• Jackson - Depends on their evaluation of him

I'm guessing we get Bamba or Jackson, unless Bamba is already gone and the medical staff has no issues with Porter.

I don't think Bamba is in the same league as Bagley. Hope I'm wrong if the Mavs get him.

I thought so too until i started reading about him and listening to some talent evaluators. Bamba has the longest wing span in nba history and he's apparently with the same shooting guru that Embiid used and is killing it in private workouts.

Don't get me wrong, I'd take either at 5, but Bamba's ceiling is apparently as high or higher than anyone in this draft.

His footwork looks outstanding here (for a raw player of his size):

I agree with gambling on upside and taking Porter. If the docs say he's ok, take a chance. The Macs have wasted plenty of draft picks over the years...what's one more in case it doesn't work.

Realistically........ the mavs order should be Bamba, then Bagley, and if those guys are gone take a shot on porter.

I'm not a huge fan of Jackson. Good player, but I'm not convinced of his upside yet. I'm thinking as it stands now the top 5 goes Ayton, Bagley, Bamba, Doncic, then Porter to Mavs (if given thumbs up by medical staff). I hope Bamba falls to us, but I think someone will fall in love with his length.

I think y'all are going to be surprised how far bagley falls. There is a reason he will fall. His game does not translate well to nba and he was literally one of the worst defenders in the nation last year. I'm projecting him to be a Kenneth Faried type of player but with even worse defense. I want nothing to do with him.

Unfortunately, I think #5 puts us in a position where the front office can screw up. We've seen them mess up a lot of things in the past.

Yea I wouldn't have been that disappointed with #4. Would have been happy with 3 and ecstatic with 1-2. 5 is somewhat depressing.

Ok, someone's gonna have to talk to me about Bamba- because all I've heard and read is that he is absolutely not the pick I want. I listened to a bit of Mike Marshall and Brian Dameris who did a live podcast on the lottery, and one thing they both agreed on is that they don't want Bamba.

So given that, it is my fervent wish that Bagley falls. If not, then Jackson or Porter

I'm not too upset with dropping to 5. I really wanted number 1 or 2 for Doncic. After that you could make the case for Jackson, Bagley, Bamba or Porter being the best player. Each of these guys has solid strengths and known weakness. It is hard to say who will overcome theirs. The Mavs will be looking at two of those guys on the board when they select. Still a good draft to tank in, luckily it's not a 4 player draft.

That's definitely the four I see going first

Phoenix- May take Doncic because of their new head coach- if not, definitely Ayton
Sacramento- will take either Doncic or Ayton likely, but maybe because they have Stein then they pass on a big? They do stupid **** in the draft too
Atlanta- If Doncic or Ayton are available, they go to them. If not, Bagley goes
Memphis- may not take a power forward because it might piss off Gasol who still has two years left. But they wouldn't take Trae Young because of Conley. So who knows
Dallas- whatever's available

Trade #5 and next years first unprotected for the #2 pick. Draft Doncic....


If not and Bamba isn't available at 5, trade down to the 8-11 range and pick up another first rounder.
