I believe Dirk is a useful player and a luxury to have at very minimal cost. Notice Rick doesn't really even talk about Dirk moving forward. The Mavs started the rebuild a couple seasons to late and its still costing them.I love the direction but please no more FA ov 28 yo. Not interesting in busting ass to make he 8th seed next year
Dirk is def not gonna be playing starter's minutes (whether he technically starts or not). I bet he falls somewhere between 15-19min/game.MW03 said:
Personally, I think Harrison Barnes is a bad No. 1 option, a serviceable No. 2, and a pretty damned good No. 3. If you could flex him to be a "stretch big" PF in a small lineup to give Dirk some rest, that pretty good too since you still have DJ to play the rim. I wish there was a way to get Julius Randle as well, but I dont think there is.
Gonna use him and Dre?Street_Cred_Norm said:
Soup, in your basketball expert opinion, Randle to the Mavs a good idea?
Go ahead and google "Achilles + NBA + all star"...and see how many people suffer that injury and rebound to their former selves. It doesn't happen. And Boogie isn't a guy who will 'do whatever it takes' in the rehab facility.gigem1223 said:
The dude can take as much time off as he wants. Let's not act like Boogie didn't average 25 and 13 last season. Him on that roster is absurd.

People are WAY overreacting to this. He's more likely to miss all of next season than to return to even 70% of what he was before the injury.
Pump your brakes there man, wasn't being condescening. Tone is hard to convey on text so apologies if thats how it came off.gigem1223 said:M.C. I don't need a google search to tell me what I already know. You don't have to be a condescending ******* to debate an opinion. My point is The Warriors can afford to take that gamble. He can pretty much take off all season to rehab it and be ready for the playoffs. Sounds like wishful thinking on your part to think one player is going to tear apart a locker room that has been together for years and has won multiple championships already.
