You have to be careful not to hurt Clint's feelings. He knows there isn't much of a market out there but he could still be offended by us lowballing him.

Something tells me Cousins looks better than we've ever seen him with Curry, Klay, KD, and Draymond or Iggy on the floor with him. Absolutely ridiculous.

Quote:

The filthy-rich Warriors just got even richer, capitalizing on Cousins's uncertain health and a tight cap environment to address their weakest position with the most talented free-agent center on the market. By inking Cousins, the Warriors broke up the rising Pelicans' All-Star duo, kept one of the few remaining stars away from joining LeBron James on the Lakers, and extended their lead over the likes of the Rockets, Celtics, Sixers, Spurs, Blazers and Thunder, all of whom seem headed for lateral (or worse) offseasons. Instead of tinkering on the margins of its rotation, as most championship teams are forced to do, Golden State once again took out the dynamite and exploded the league's hope for something resembling competitive balance. They have dominated with stiffs and rookies at the five and now it could get much, much worse.

For Cousins, who surely had visions of signing a long-term max contract prior to his injury, the Warriors are an ideal Plan B. He can take as long as he needs to return to full health, as Golden State has plenty of talent and patience to hold down the fort. He can expect a manageable workload in terms of minutes once he returns, as Golden State will have Jordan Bell, Green and other big men on hand. And he can anticipate playing within balanced lineups and the clearest and most well-honed system of his career.

The Warriors will also be good for Cousins in ways he might not realize or be willing to admit. So often frustrated by the weak links around in Sacramento, Cousins now finds himself in a bit of a role reversal: He will be the new guy who needs to prove he can hold his weight within defensive schemes and absorb his new organization's carefully-crafted opinions on shot selection. Golden State knows it can win without him, a fact that keeps the pressure on Cousins to play to his strengths and avoid his weaknesses. This dynamic has helped the Warriors turn the likes of JaVale McGee and Nick Young from punchlines into champions, and the Cousins reclamation project has a significantly higher upside. Duh.

This free agency doesn't look too promising for us

****ing Ryan Anderson is going to ruin all of this.

He ruined us getting Carmelo. This year he hurt trade flexibility but it's not like we were getting a Boogey level player. We're not beating GS.

It just doesn't matter. The Warriors will win again even if they have injury issues.

Not excited about Anderson but when he "ruined us getting Carmelo" he saved 2017-2019.

No way we get anywhere close to the finals this year or last year with him clogging up the offense and taking terrible shots.

I'd still take him at the vet min and see if he'd fall in line.

I don't know why anyone would want Melo. He's an inefficient ball hog on offense, a bad locker room guy, plays no defense, is out of shape, has a history of getting coaches fired (including Pringles), isn't willing to come off the bench, and still believes he's as good as LeBron. I pray that stays in OKC.

If I am Pringles I am vehemently opposed to bringing in Melo at this point. Dude is a coach killer and that doesn't even factor in that he isn't any good any more.

Melo used to have a killer mid-range game. Last year he hit 38% from 16-22 feet. First five seasons, he drove to the hoop a lot, averaged 120 dunks/year and his average shot distance was 10' from the basket.

Last year, Melo's average shot was 17' from the basket and he dunked 17 times. 63% of his shots are from 16' or further.

Plus he has always sucked at D. Not a guy I want and not a guy that will strike fear or cause other coaches to game plan for him. His corner 3 was only 33% last year, so not like you can stick him there and wait for Harden or Paul to find him.

The league is ****ed. Pretending Golden State isn't gonna roll to another championship is silly. Tell me to get a dog or whatever, I'm just saying what we all know is gonna happen.

I wonder if this means that Gerald is going to get more time with the starters and MCW will take over the "just chuck it" Gerald Green role for the second team. I'm not crazy about this, but for a 1 year deal it won't kill us.

We have no assets. Our only chance of getting him will be if he goes nuclear on the wolves like Leonard is doing to the spurs. Otherwise the celtics will grab him.

It'll be interesting to see what Minnesota wants in return. Thibs is an odd bird. I saw where he wants to play with Kyrie but that team is loaded with guards already. Butler only has this year left on his deal.

I imagine he'd have taken less to stay here. Maybe not, but he seemed to have good chemistry here and the Suns are awful.

It's officially time to ditch the Eastern and Western conferences and just have a 16 team playoff system
