So after 7 years we finally have the results of the George Hill trade. Hill turned into Demarre Carrol, Demar Derozen, Jacob Poeltl and one more ring in 2014. Not bad.

You forgot future Hall of Famer Keldon Johnson.

Not really a surprise but the 2nd year for Morris will be a player option.

Of course, how could I forget.

Lonnie, Eubanks, and Thomas Robinson didn't play today, so good showing by our three draft picks. Luka had to play at the 5 almost exclusively and his lack of strength gets in trouble on defense. He also doesn't have that "go get it" mentality while rebounding. However, he did a lot of nice things and has such a wide array of skills and we got to see a little bit of everything tonight. Keldon attacks the basket and gets to the line very well. He was 0/2 from 3 but did go 7/7 from the free throw line. Still really impressed with his defense. Weatherspoon looks like a summer league vet out there. He's never rattled, never out of control, always under control. He shot the ball ok but he was 0/2 from 3. What's disappointing about his two misses from deep is that I'd he had just pulled the trigger when caught the ball he might have been in rhythm to make it. Both times he caught it and tried to do a little dribble step back when he didn't need to.

I agree on Weatherspoon's 3 pointers. With Samanic, if he develops a game to match his skills he could be a superstar in future. I really like what the Spurs did in the draft and in free-agency.

I like what I'm seeing from Johnson a lot. He's just competitor. Bacon was in his ear all game and Johnson ended up stuffing him and made him look stupid at the other end in the 4th.

Walker with 23 first half points. What a difference a year makes.

Finished with 32, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, and 2 blocks. 12/23 overall shooting including 3/6 from 3. He was 2/2 on his only two catch and shoot 3s and was able to pull up off the dribble for the third. He's still inconsistent on his pull up from 3, but his midrange is pretty much automatic right now. I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't play anymore during the summer league. He doesn't really have much left to prove against this level of competition.

It has been interesting to see even the summer team doing load management. None of our main guys (Lonnie, Eubanks, Samanic, Keldon, and Weatherspoon) have played back to back games. They're staggered so far so usually the 3 rookies all play together or the two NBA guys play together.

In summer league every team staggers their playing time. The whole point is to get 15 guys an opportunity to show what they can do. It is interesting to see who they decide to play together. I have to think after Utah they saw that the rookies didn't play quite as well when Lonnie was on the court dominating. When he's not out there they have a lot more responsibility.

Apparently the Spurs offered JaMychal Green a lot more than what he got from the Clippers. Wonder which of Morris/Carroll was the fall back option.

Klutch sports and Rich Paul should be fined out the a-- for this. But league won't dare confront King James over his clown show agency.

If we miss out on Morris I'm gonna be real disappointed. There aren't really any free agents left to use the MLE on.

Also, who the hell would want to go play for the Knicks? As mentioned above they have Randle, Portis, Gibson, and Kevin Knox that will all compete for minutes at the 4. Plus they can't stop tripping over their own dicks to make the playoffs in the east. I get that $15>~$9 we would offer, but there's literally nothing else going for the Knicks in this situation and it's not like we low balled Morris.

Iggy if he gets bought out of Memphis, but he seems destined to ride the coattails with LAC.

This is his agent, Rich Paul, and his agency, LeBron's Klutch Sports (talk about a conflict of interest) doing the Spurs dirty for not sending Kawhi their way last summer (and for Pop convincing Demps not to trade AD to LA during the season).

Traded Davis for nothing. And tacked on another year to Carroll's deal. I agree, spurs should sue.

Memphis is trying to get a trade for Iggy (though I don't see that happening), but we'd have to wait for that to pass. Like you said, he's probably gonna go ride coattails for one of the LA teams for the vet min. I also don't love Iggy's fit on this team. He still defends at a high level and is a smart player, but he's another non shooter. He's less of a floor spacer than Morris or Carroll.

It could still work out between The Spurs and Morris, but we're looking around. The best wing still available is Kelly Oubre, who's a restricted FA with Phoenix. He's still super young and has a lot talent, so maybe he's someone we're looking at.

Traded Davis because he was abused in the playoffs and we got rid of him one year earlier.

It really makes no sense. FA market next year is barren. Spurs were negotiating in good faith giving him a player option next season when he could opt out and get (potentially) a much bigger payday.

I think Davis was on his way out regardless, but he had value. I know he was traded in the DeMarre Carroll s&t, but it was done to free up the full MLE for Morris.
