Spurs are still only three games back in the loss column along with three other teams. As bad as they've been they still have a shot at the 8th seed. I've never seen anything like this.

Spurs fans arent used to dealing with young talent. If you havent noticed, young guys typically are wildly inconsistent and dont win very much. White, Walker, Murray and Poeltl have shown a lot of promise. I think Trey Lyles has shown flashes as well and hes still very young. Johnson and Semanic are still teenagers.
There is a promising young group here to work with. I dont know if any will become stars but theres a few who COULD.
Yeah theres nobody you exclude from trade talks for Zion or Yanis. But that ain't happening anyway.

That's a good point. I suppose it's just more frustrating because we have had a lot of chances to win but just can't close out which also comes with youth I suppose.
I really like Jakob. It's a shame he doesn't get more mins. He's solid.

I hope I'm wrong, but I couldn't care less for Poeltl. I think his game has topped out already. That's not to say he's a bad player, but I think what you see now is what you've got for the rest of his career. I don't see any upside for the future with his game, except possibly becoming a better defender, but honestly he's too slow to guard legit stretch bigs, and true bruising centers are so rare now you can't make a career of being the "ill slow down the other teams center" anymore.
That's just personal opinion though.
Oh he definitely has a ceiling. Maybe he can improve his touch around the basket and FTs. But yea we are basically seeing what we are goin get from him in the future. But that's why I like him. We know what we are going to get with him and he has been fairly consistent in whatever mins he gets.

Spurs have one of the worst defenses in the league. It also doesn't help that we have no players to take the pressure off of the offense to spur ball movement. As good as he played last night Patty Mills creating our offense during crunch time just won't get it done. DeMar is back to his whiny uninspired play it seems. We can't get rid of that guy soon enough.

I haven't heard anything. That doesn't seem like it would make too much sense anyways. Pop seems to have one foot in retirement already.
If Derozan used his energy on effort rather than complaining and throwing tantrums on the court, he might actually help this team. The dude is a loser. Worst body language. He's supposed to be one of this team's leaders. I feel like he just shoots this team's confidence.

The only thing I see out there about it is Stephen A. Smith saying how awesome it would be. Not that it's a legit rumor. He bases it all on the fact that Sean Marks is there and admits it's pure pipe dream wishing.
That's all I see as well. Not much of the rumor. Even if it was a substantial rumor, I still don't think the likelihood of him going to a brand new city at the age of 71 is great.

I have no clue why Brooklyn would want Pop. He's 71 and it's not like the nets are on the verge of being legit title contenders. Pop would only have a couple years left and I don't see him leaving the Spurs to take over a team that's also competing for low end playoff seeds.
I also don't think Hammon would take over as HC when Timmy has taken over the reigns when Pop has been ejected or the other day when he missed. Not saying Duncan is next in line, but why promote someone when they won't even let her be the lead part time?
