That was not a walk on White. I could find about 20 other plays in this game that looked more like a travel than that.

Simmons fouled out and Derozan knocks down a couple free throws to take the lead

Like I've said all along, give DeRozan the max.

Why did DJ have it that possession. Wtf are we doing.

Philly played good defense on Demar and DJ waved him off when the clock was running down. Up by 1 with 22 seconds. The spurs play the free throw game now.

Murray shouldn't be waiving any body. That's the thing.

Game over. Damn. Can't be too upset. We played hard. Should have won this game if it wasn't for that shot clock violation.

Welp, it was a nice comeback from the young guys but that shot clock violation that the refs counted at the end of the third hurts. Along with White missing the free throw and Milton making the three. I was yelling defend the in bounder.

Well that's a tough one to lose since we were right there, but man this team looks soooo much better than they did before the season stopped. Good news is Memphis lost again, so we didn't lose any game on them for the 8 spot. Next three is nuggets, jazz, pelicans. I think we need to find a way to win two of those if we want to keep competing for that last playoff opportunity.

I'd also have preferred Demar just go up with the ball on that lost possession. It was a good pass, but I don't want Poeltl taking the last shot in any circumstance unless it's an uncontested dunk.

That was tough but you gotta love the resilience the young guys + Derozan showed in the 4th. This was a learning experience for sure for them, which is what Pop wanted these 8 games to be more than anything. Keeping the playoff streak alive would be nice, but games like this will pay off in the long run.

Also, love the way Keldon Johnson plays. This guy is out there in crunch time against one of the most talented teams in the league in one of his first real games with the team.

Agree with Demar taking the last shot there. The spacing was tight for Poetl who is not a good foul shooter if he was to get fouled there.

They need to have Poetl and their bigs ready for Jokic come next game.

I think that these last three games have shown us that the DeMar/LaMarcus experiment needs to end (not that their poor +/- numbers weren't enough). DeMar looks a lot more comfortable without LMA and he gels better with this small ball lineup.

Also under no circumstances whatsoever should DJ handle the ball in crunch time.

I actually thought it was a nice play. Poeltl is just so damn slow on offense. I would have also liked to see DeMar take that baseline shot though.

So obviously defense is still an issue with the super small lineups we've been playing. However, rebounding is not, which is super surprising to me. Sacramento (who also played small) out rebounded us by 8. However the last two games against Memphis and Philly (which are most definitely much bigger teams) the spurs out rebounded them by 19 and 9. We've also gotten more offensive rebounds in every game so far.

It's not that it was a bad play, but it goes back to who do you trust to actually convert there (or who is more likely to get the foul call).

Going into these last 8 games I didn't think they will get into the playoffs and wasn't sure what to expect from the young players together. However, after watching these three games and the Spurs playing a different style of basketball, seeing different lineups, and the young players playing it's fun to watch. Still think it's slim they make the playoffs.

It has been an interesting look to the Spurs. Can't believe the loss tonight. mix of things but they played well on the back 2 back.
Gotta keep it up to keep the streak alive

Mavs helped us out and pulled out a win over Sacramento in OT. Need Houston to take care of business against Portland tonight.

Would also help if the LAC could beat the suns right now. Suns have been playing some good basketball during the bubble. From a SOS standpoint, NOLA looks to be in a good position too.

NOLA's schedule is so much easier than the five other teams vying for the 8/9 seed its actually a joke.

NOLA started 1-2 and has the kings, wizards, Spurs, kings, and magic remaining. Obviously we need to beat the pelicans, but we need them to split with the kings and lose to the magic as well.

Phoenix is now 3-0 in the bubble with wins over the mavs and clippers

Grizzlies announced today that Jaren Jackson tore his meniscus and will be out for the rest of the season. Hate that it happened to such a young and promising player, but this combined with their schedule makes the Grizzlies falling out of 9th place altogether a lot more realistic.
s13fenton

Grizzlies remaining schedule is Jazz, Thunder, Raptors, Celtics, Bucks which on paper is brutal, but will be interesting to see how the Raptors and Bucks will look considering their seeding is pretty much locked in at this point.

I think NOLA and Portland will be the spurs toughest competition.

The Spurs really have their work cut out for them. Portland looks to be coming on. I believe Portland can go 3-2 and likely make the play in. I think that 3-2 has to be the Spurs' goal for 9th place with a win against NOLA. And this is assuming Memphis drops most of their games as well. That Philly loss really hurt us.

I do think it's possible. Denver still has injuries with Barton Harris and Murray (d2d). Jazz don't scare me. I think we can split. Need the win over NOLA desperately.

This was the first game that we obviously struggled rebounding with our small lineup. Down the stretch when we needed stops, we couldn't finish a possession and secure the rebound. Denver is huge and they took advantage.

Also, Michael Porter is really good.

Aside from the disappointing showings from Murray and Walker, Poeltl has been a huge let down. The more I watch him, the more I'd be okay with letting him walk in the off-season. He's slow footed on offense, really has no offensive game and is getting eaten alive in the post. Money would be more wisely spent on someone else unless we are able to get him for nothing in RFA.

White and Johnson on the other hand are players. They have consistently done good things at both ends throughout the bubble. To me, those are the two that have showed me the most out of the young guys and it's not even close.

None of our young guys seem like they will be all-star level shot creators (at least as of now) which is something we will really need when DD leaves. I think we have some really good starters but we are missing a future star.

With that being said the team has already exceeded my expectations. With only a game behind Portland they are still alive, but so is everyone else basically.

Freaking Phoenix is undefeated in the bubble (4-0) with their last three wins coming over Dallas, the clippers, and pacers! And just like that they're tied with us and are a threat to get into that play in game. Crazy how hot the Suns have gotten.
