I like all the guys you listed. Good size at the wing, which we need. I like Vassell in particular. Good defensive tools with a lot to work with as a shooter. He almost reminds me of Middleton in college.

If we some how break into the top 4, Deni and Killian are my favorites. Deni would be good to plug into the group we have. Killian, to me, has the tools to be a star PG. I would probably take him over Deni if we could move DJ.

Also, if Toppin somehow falls to 11 (22 years old), he'd be a blast to watch with our group running the floor. His defensive deficiencies are pretty obvious though.

Deni should be right at the top of the Spurs draft board. His size, instincts, and guard skills gives him Luka Doncic vibes. Obviously he's not nearly as accomplished, but he's got the tools to be a guy that you can run an offense through.

I know in this league you always draft the best player available, but it's hard for me to get excited about another 6'5" guard in Hayes. Like you mentioned, we'd have to move DJ to justify that pick imo.

Toppin will be Amare Stoudemire with range. Explosive dunker, good in the pick and roll, has promise of solid range, but god awful on defense. Just stuff when trying to move laterally. Honestly, I think he'd fit with the warriors really well and would help them jump back into that group of contender with curry and Thompson coming back.

Yea I get what you're saying about Hayes. But there's something about that guy. He's not super explosive, but he can create his own shot in a variety of ways, but more than that, his IQ seems to be off of the charts with a great feel for the game. Dude can pass the ball better than anyone in the draft not named Melo.

First Spurs lottery in 23 years. I was 10 when I saw the last one.

Hey, Acie Law IV was the #11 pick once upon a time. Some great synergy for the Spurs here.

This is such an underwhelming class. If there were a year to trade up, this would be it. I bet a lot of lottery teams will be shopping their pick.

It will be interesting to see if the Spurs will take the best player available or will try to get the best fit. Much easier to do the latter when you have 3 hall of famers on your team.

Also, **** the Warriors.

That's exactly why they SHOULDNT trade up

I'm saying it's an opportunity for the Spurs FO to see somebody others don't.

I wouldn't be opposed to trading up if we can move one of LA or Demar and not have to give up future first round picks. Probably won't happen though.
Enzo The Baker

Yea. I for sure wouldn't give up any of our future firsts. As I've said before, I'd be open to trading anyone on our team except for White and Johnson. Not sure how marketable DeMar and LMA would be given their contracts. But maybe one of our young guys and/or a couple seconds would get it done?

It also looks like FA will likely be pushed back further. Would hate to see the draft delayed but you would think it would follow.

McMillan was just canned which is a surprise as he just renegotiated his contract. I always thought he was a good coach and would be a good replacement for Pop should he retire. Only downside is his age at 56.

Hard pass. He's had young rosters and never proven he could take them anywhere. Just another meh coach who's better suited for college.

Coulda had Bud come home if Pop would have hung it up a few years ago.

Nash is the new head coach of the nets. Putting those Pop to BK rumors to bed.

Crazy. That hire seems to have happened out of nowhere. I believe Nash resides in NYC so makes sense.

That is very interesting. Seems like last year Nash was going all in on soccer broadcasting. Definitely a smart guy though who has the respect of guys like KD and Kyrie so that's really all you can ask for.

Bud getting rolled by Spoelstra this week isn't exactly a resume builder.

Looks like the Cavs are looking to trade their pick (5th) to improve even in the short term. If there was a franchise to be dumb enough to make a deal with, they'd be it.

If there's a guy they really like, that's their chance to move up. Possibly a guy like Deni Avdija.

Spurs are probably just doing their due diligence but this is a guy that I think has all star potential. I know we are guard heavy but none of our guards have this guy's skill set. As it stands right now we would probably have to trade up for Killian but spurs are in no position to draft based on position need imo. We have to take the best player available.

I imagine I'd there was a trade, it would involve one of our young guards.

Which id be okay with. Even if it was Derrick (who I think is our best defender) I would do it. Just don't touch Keldon.

Cant believe Uncle Dennis fired Doc Rivers.
Enzo The Baker
How long do you want to ignore this user?

I can.

The problem with that Clipper team is their personnel. It's a group of players (aside from Kawhi) who are all talk. No leadership. No cohesion, which partly falls on Doc, but it's not like he had a coaching staff of stiffs on that team to lean on.
Guitarsoup
How long do you want to ignore this user?

I don't know that that is all on Doc. Kawhi was trying to get the Spurs to trade for Paul George years ago, but the Spurs didn't have enough bullets to make the deal. That was Kawhi's hand picked Robin.

Could you imagine the pacers getting fleeced by the Spurs twice? They were probably asking for the world.
