It really is that simple, as pointed out last night. Minnesota is playing bully ball as a tactic because it's their best chance, and it's clearly working - they're tied with a superior team and got the superstar to lose his cool and make a mistake.

Now that more light is being put on the subject, hopefully the refs will call a better game…. And hopefully the Spurs players learned from this and grow from this experience.

Kudos to you die hard Spurs fans... I'm a casual fan and I was fully pissed off last night.

There's a chance I'm banned in /r/NBA after last night.

And he lined up that elbow on Wemby. Another non-call (and actually I believe lit the fuse on the Wemby elbow).

Putting up a fake assault picture like that is pretty libel.

Spurs need to sign Draymond for next season. They need a psycho on the floor to enforce things and always be in the refs ear. Unfortunately, that's where the NBA is these days

The thing is this - I don't even really mind increased physicality as long as it is body contact/bumps with very aggressive defense on the perimeter, letting guys get a little looser with picks, etc. It is the blatant holding/grabbing/jersey pulling/shoving that to me invites an increased chance of injury and escalates things to a higher level.

The refs can call a physical game with a loose whistle but without letting it turn into a wrestling match.

Now that we know Victor Wembanyama will be able to play in Game 5 in San Antonio, we can wonder about the impact of his gesture on the officiating for the rest of the series.

In my opinion, he comes out of it rather as a "winner," in the sense that the referees will be forced to exercise much greater vigilance regarding how the Wolves' defense treats him.

Whatever happens, knowing the guy, he has already learned from his mistake and will know to keep his cool next time.

I don't see any way he scores less than 50 this game.

Yes, been wanting him at the 20th pick for a while now. Hope the Spurs also take a hard look at Karaban early in the 2nd as well.

For the 2nd, I really want a legit center project. Tarris Reed, Henri Veesaar, Motiejus Krivas, Flory Bidunga, etc.

I like Karaban, but don't think he would ever play on this team. A third team center is obviously needed and I think a guy like Reed or Kirvas would provide perfect minutes.

Wemby having no history of this type of behavior was helpful in this case I'm sure.

I need another 40 point dismantling tomorrow, please.

That's certainly been my thoughts. One reocurring instance has Wemby in the air, full extension, grabbing a rebound and he's getting hit hard enough to move him way off his original landing spot. It's very awkward and it can very easily lead to a blown knee/ankle.

It will only take 2-3 whistles in the 1st Q to put a stop to that *****... but it's been 4 games and they haven't whistled it once.

Oh the refs will definitely try to get a handle on it in Game 5 and I guarantee Wemby and Castle get the first fouls of the game called on them.

I'm still mad about the game yesterday. Tired of watching shots go up and Rudy looking for somebody to jack in the chest. Hopefully coming home and a bit more focus on managing physicality and general bush league play by the wolves (jersey grabbing, bench players pretending to block corner shots) + spurs coming out mad results in us steamrolling these fools. Also glad it's not another 8:30 game.

Haven't posted since my usual pregame post yesterday. Stayed off the board last night to cool off, but I'm glad the league didn't suspend or fine Wemby. They let it get to that point with every little push, grab, hold on literally every possession that goes uncalled. I think a message will be sent and the officials will be looking for it much more going forward (maybe that's just wishful thinking). The most frustrating part about last night's game, and this series as a whole, is it's painfully obvious that we're the better basketball team. We should have won game 1 with our two best offensive players having horrendous nights, and we should have won game 4 with our best player getting ejected early in the game. Minnesota can't out play us, so they have to turn it into slugfest and try and drag us into that sort of game. I really think we win the next two fairly comfortably after the lack of calls came to a head with Wemby's ejection.

I'm sure all of this has already been said and discussed, but I ain't going back and reading all the stuff I missed.

He's not as safe as Morez Johnson would be, but his ceiling offensively is much higher. I think he's got real stretch big potential along with the size and athleticism to impact defensively. His interviews will be big for him because his biggest question is his motor, but his tools and size make him real enticing.

This is the guy I want. I would be ok with others but he is at the top of my wishlist.
I'm not sold on Cenac or Peat but there is still time.

Peat could end up like Collin Murrays Boyle, but its a risk, because he can't shoot at all. I think someone like OKC takes a risk on him before us anyway because he has a lot of potential.

Cenac is troublesome because of the question of motor and all that. But he does have all the physical tools.

Tough thing at 20 is there aren't usually any slam dunks, but if we were picking at 14, I would still be considering Morez over Steinbach or Yaxel Lenderoug.
