Sports Guy, if you have zero hate for the Rangers why do you jump on almost every single positive Rangers thread on this board to tell everybody not to get excited? Isn't that the point of being a fan?
Your "unrealistic expectations" BS could just as easily have applied to the hapless Red Sox in 2003. You need to remember that the Sox were probably the most inept franchise in the league (aside from the White Sox, who for some reason were never mentioned at all) less than ten years ago. Any fan of any team in the AL East (save the brand new Tampa Rays) could've talked down to you and any other Red Sox just a short time ago based on recent accomplishments and number of titles since World War 1. It took a wild card team full of "idiots" to make your team matter again, and they did it against pretty strong odds.
In that sense, the 2004 Red Sox and the 2010 Rangers are not all that different at this point. Not really sure where you or any Red Sox fan would have any sort of authority to tell the Rangers what or what not to expect.
Keep it up though, you just make yourself look childish.
Kid, I hope you know who the everyday Rangers fans are on this board. Most are pretty good posters.
As a guy who has passionately followed the Rangers for a long time, I can say that at this point in the season I already consider 2010 to be a success. I don't expect to last long in the playoffs, but the positives that will come from this season far outweigh the negatives. The future is VERY bright for the Rangers.
Here's to an entertaining series, know that at least for me anything I post is in good fun.
