Sox fans are among the best fans because they support their team thick or thin. That doesn't equate to rewarding them when they are unhappy with the product on the field. They are born Sox fans and will die Sox fans.

Sorry you don't have the capacity to understand that. It is simple for me to understand because I was born with it. They will ALWAYS be my team. That will NEVER change. That doesn't mean that I will arbitrarily agree with whatever move the team does; nor should it. It keeps ownership/managment in check.

I wanted the Rangers to trade for Arencibia a couple years ago. Thought they might be able to steal a gem like they did with Napoli a few years back. His level of play didn't pick up like I expected. I'm curious to see how he turns out.

Wrong. You define "follow" as attendance. I don't.

I said that attendance does not directly correlate to levels of passion for a team. You want it to. But you are wrong (as usual).

There are MANY ways to measure "follow."

- Attendance
- TV viewers
- Newspaper readers
- Online web hits.

HOWEVER... attendance is a significant measure, and one often used here.

In addition, it is a significant source of team revenue.
