Nolan Ryan.

Billy Doran slightly edged Jose Cruz.

Was a hell of a year for me as a ten year old who really started reading box scores for baseball and basketball.

The 86 Rox and Stros were a lot of fun.

Biggio and Bagwell, typical Houston-area kid. Eventually more Biggio, loved the scrappy attitude.

Bill Doran. One of the most underrated Astros off all time.

Close second - Craig Reynolds.

1997 Ken Griffey Jr.

He's the reason I'm a Mariners fan to this day. I was overjoyed that he was able to retire in Seattle. I even got to see him one last time at Safeco his final season against the Yankees. They won on a walk off home run off Rivera by.... Ichiro of all people. I'll never forget that day as it was my first and last time to see Jr. play in person. Even if he 0-4.

Craig Biggio
I had just gotten into baseball a couple of years before (Parents never signed me up), and I remember Biggio chasing 3000 hits, and I loved his hustle for a 2nd Baseman in his late 30s. He, not singlehandedly, made me fall in love with the game of baseball.

Not sire if it's exactly 10 years old, but Nolan, Will Clark, and Ruben Sierra.
I pitched with Nolan's leg kick and batted with Ruben's extreme bat waggle

Indeed, but if you saw me in person, you'd guess I'm at least 24, not 19.

This. 1991. Neon Deion Sanders. Lived in Atlanta and watching him play football was enough to make me a fan of his when he was with the Braves. Wasn't a great hitter, but he led the league in triples a couple years bc he could flat out fly around the bases.

Rickey Henderson.

It was my second or third year of little league. My first team I was on was the A's and that was my first real introduction to following MLB so they became my favorite team. Just so happened that they were awesome back then and I just loved the excitement that Henderson brought. I love his swagger and confidence that he could steal a base anytime he was on. You knew he was going to go it was just a matter of when. I freakin' loved that.
