Yep. Profar was exactly the reason for that trade. He was the #1 prospect in baseball until he started having his shoulder(?) problems.

So they trade Kinsler straight up for Fielder, which I very much liked at the time. Then Profar gets injured, which I very much did not like. Then Odor is inserted, and I liked that until I did not.

Kinsler also reinvented himself as a hitter once he left. He was all pull power in 12 and 14. Goes to Detroit and suddenly remembers he can use the whole field.

I attended a minor league game where they used it. It's relatively quick. It probably does diminish the concept of framing a bit, but I don't think you'll see a lot of challenges on those borderline pitches. I just want it to get rid of the egregious calls that affect the game in a huge way.

Can the umps deny challenges? I'm all for getting the egregious calls corrected but don't want some dudes thinking they can slow the game down by challenging every other pitch.

You also lose a challenge if the call is correct. Good way to keep players from over challenging.

Mahle pitching today for the Rangers. While ST stats don't matter, it will be interesting to see where his velo is. Was down quite a bit last season when he came back.

Not really. If truly healthy and as long as there are no other issues, a lot of guys come back throwing harder than they did before they got injured. Obviously age is a big factor too.

I still need to do this, but life has been crazy busy the past month and I haven't fully looked into the details.

So I live 3.5 hours away in the Austin area. I just sign up and I'm good? Or are there blackout areas or anything else to look into first? I'm on YTV so I believe Victory is my only option, unless I switch to DTV streaming, but the family likes YTV so not looking to switch (after many years on regular DTV, mostly bc of Rangers coverage).

And this year was always the target year. We knew last year would just be getting ready for this one for Mahle.

Hard not to like the rotation. Your 4th or 5th guy is talked about as a guy who has the stuff to move to closer.

Google "Texas Rangers tv market map". Pretty sure it covers like 80% of the state, including the Austin area. I know I'm good and I live in College Station. I looked into it before I signed up for Victory.
