The Pirates had fired long time broadcaster Bob Prince after 1975 and the Astros hired him to team with Gene Elston who had broadcast every game since 1962. That just lasted a year and the radio broadcasts weren't as good with 2 "aces" if you will. I grew up in Fort Stockton and we could get KWKH put of Shreveport at night if the sky was clear. There was only one game per week on TV back then so I actually came to love baseball listening to Elston and reading the Sporting News every week. I saw very little.

Personally, I do not. I just don't think he's a guy. Toolys but can't put it all together. When savant starting publishing AAA data, our whole group outside Cabbage (gone), Loperfido, Dezenzo, Whitcomb, & Hummel were all pretty trash.
You say that but my takeaway was that AAA in general was well behind the big leagues in terms of EV, barrels, etc. Most of the guys who hit the ball hard either wiff a ton or were classic 27 year old AAAA guys (eg Cabbage who fit both definitions and was a monster when connecting). So the question is are hitters in AAA just not good or do they develop more hard hitting qualities in the bigs as they age?

Melton - AAA all the way. His #s last year in SL were trash.

Red Sox: They would need to move Casa (trade) and Devers (1B), which would also take them out of the Vladdy 2026 market OR move an unmoveable contract in Story and put Breggy at 2B.
Mets: would be more likely to get Polar Bear back more cheaply than pay for Bregman.
Phillies: would have to move Bohm and they seem to value him more than the rest of the league.
