I'd also be looking at signing a pitcher and flipping Framber. Maybe you get a guy like Eovaldi on a two year deal then trade Framber to the Orioles for O'Hearn and Kjerstad to get some lefty bats and saves you money as then you don't have to sign Walker (who also has a QO).

Eovaldi seems like he's always on the brink of elbow blowout. That would really concern me.

I love the reliever to starter transition, since usually it's a full circle type thing. Good luck to Holmes in the NL.

It's kind of genius. Worse case you still get a reliever that pretty dang good at a slight overpay. Best case you get a SP well under market value.

I've seen Kim projected around 4 years $60M, Walker around 3 years $50M and Belli is making $27M. If you dump Pressly that would put you around $250M this year.

mlb trade rumors
Walker 3/60
Kim 3/24

Ny post
Walker 3/60
Kim 2/20

Fangraphs Ben & Crowdsource
Walker 3/51 & 3/54
Kim 5/100 & 4/73.5

Belli 1/27.5 or 2/52.5

Top end: 212.5
Low end: 98.5

150 might be close. I'm shocked be the low Kim projections. I would 100% snag him if Bregman doesn't sign. Even if he's injured for part of the year.

so if Bregman and Tucker go elsewhere...

is there a chance of holding onto Framber with a 5 or 6-year deal?

2025 is his age 31 season

so he would hit free agency at age 32

I wouldn't want him on that kind of deal

Looked like he was fooled a little bit and out ahead of the pitch. Good indicactor of his pop.

Super super quick hands. Still needs pitch recognition work and some work with his glove. He'll start the year in AAA but he's ahead of where they expected him to be no doubt.

Boras is gonna want that for breggy plus some. This probably rules out the Astros if they aren't gonna do more than 6 years

If bregman wants 7 years you absolutely let him walk. The last 3 years of that deal would be crippling.

I would give him 10 years 175.

I'd give him 7. He'd be 37/38 when the contract is done and I think a move to second would benefit him in those late years. His plate discipline will always be there

Plus, if you think about it, in about five years or more 26 or $27 million will not be as much as it is in today's baseball. It'll be more to the equivalent of what 20M is now

Willing to be at 34 we see a sharp decline. But who knows

That's very team friendly with a stupidly low AAV. No chance he or Boras takes that. They will get the same money or more in less years.

Well hell yeah just don't know if we got that left in us but if it happens pay him 200

If the offers are 6/156 and 10/175 with the same large up front bonus, which are you taking?

If both bonuses are huge and the same I'd take 10 years. Especially at the age of 31

All things being equal, 6/156. I'm hoping I can get a renegotiation the last 2 years.

That 10/175 will get bought out the last 2 years.

Now if the 10/175 is front loaded with an opt out at year 4, 5 and 6?

1 year out of 8 full seasons is an anomaly. So I'd imagine it comes back next year

Just a reminder front load doesn't matter towards luxury tax. They take the average over the contract.

Never seen it explained how the deferred money works in terms of that.
