Trade Framber if you can attain even a portion of what that Crochet return looks like.
Per Baseball Trade Value, Framber has about half the value of Crochet. But that makes sense since he's only a rental.

We need to play hard ball with the Yankees. **** them. Gil and Dominguez must be in any package.

Bregs in pinstripes doesn't really concern me. Tuck does.

Yankees for Bregman will bode well for his Hall of Fame chances. It would get the writers on his side.

This offseason is 100x more fun than last offseason. I have a feeling we'll be 90% done by the end of the month.

Cubs fan just visiting with the Astros rumors heating up.

My one wish all offseason was to move Parades. So thanks in advance for that. It would be bittersweet to lose Suzuki - he is a stud when right. Struggled in the outfield at times, which was odd based on his reputation in Japan.

I also assume the Astros would be trying to include Pressly to shed some payroll. Not exactly the impact bullpen arm I would be hoping to bring in this offseason.

I assume the Cubs are trying moreso to include Bellinger in this deal, which makes some sense positionally for the Astros but not necessarily financially.

Astros want controllable MLB players to beef up the 2026-2029 competitive window.

Tucker is a stud but no shot the astros shell out to sign him to an extension.

Parades seems like a good contract and match for our short porch in LF. Why are you so motivated to get rid of him? was he trash after the midseason trade?

Yes, he wasn't very good at all after the midseason trade.

His power was non-existent and to be honest would be much better of a fit in the juice box. His glove, which had good grades was a disappointment. Trying to give him some slack since being traded midseason can be rough on players - they aren't robots after all. Cubs best prospect, Matt Shaw, is knocking on the door after switching from 2B to 3B last year, so the trade was a bit of a head scratcher for me to essentially block him.

Edit: Oh, also Parades is slow as molasses, lol. It was infuriating to watch him run the bases.

82 OPS+ after the trade. Not great. But would be a better fit in Houston.

I don't know why I'm getting my hopes up...
I love Texas Aggie sports, but I love Texas A&M more.

Lordy, the Astros better not let Breggy sign with NY and then trade them Tucker for a mild return.

The longer this trade talk with Tucker drags out the less confident I am that the front office finalizes a deal that will make the zoo happy. Especially with the Bregman situation causing concern that he may go to the Yankees. Then Tucker ending up with them too would be a nightmare.

That is a playoff black hole of death with Judge and Tucker batting back to back.

Welcome, friend.

Parades has always been a below-average glove. He's not some big masher and doesn't have crazy pop. What he does well is draw walks and not K. What he does elite is pull the ball in the air. The Cubs had no business trading for him. He is built for the Crawford boxes.

Why not? They have room in the payroll.

Astros aren't really used to having a burner base runner at 3rd anyway. Bregman is slow as **** and runs like a duck

The bigger the deal, the harder it is to pull off, but it is fascinating to think of the possibility of pulling off a trade where (approximately, not counting prospects possibly needed to level things out) you send Tucker and Pressly out to Chicago (plus losing Bregman in FA) and get Paredes, Suzuki, and Bellinger in return.

You would be right at the tax line, one reliever short, but have traded one lineup mainstay for three to lengthen your lineup AND your window:

C Diaz
1B Singleton (move Belli to 1B and put Meyers/Dubon in CF against LHP)
2B Altuve
3B Paredes
SS Pena
LF Suzuki
CF Bellinger
RF McCormick

That is suddenly a much deeper lineup. If you drop the Pressly/Bellinger part, it is still an upgrade and you can flip Pressly another way that doesn't increase payroll like Belli.
