I wouldn't mind giving Dezenzo a shot in LF. My main concern is CF and RF - something that I really hope we address, either with "big" money if Pressly is traded, or some cheaper options (Heyward, Gamel, Grichuk, etc.).EastCoastAgNc said:
Chandler on foul territory:
- if Presley moves, they get involved in the outfield market
- Dezenzo likely gets a shot at The starting spot in left field
- he was talking about starting pitchers and when he mentioned Framber, it was prefaced with "if he's still on the team", read anything into that?

- Dezenzo likely gets a shot at The starting spot in left field - His days at third base are over and the majority of his reps this spring will be in LF and first base
- he was talking about starting pitchers and when he mentioned Framber, it was prefaced with "if he's still on the team", read anything into that? - FWIW- they've told Framber he won't be moved but I'm sure that can change if they get an offer that they can't refuse

TODAY’S ROSTER MOVE:
— Houston Astros (@astros) December 23, 2024
We have signed 1B Christian Walker to a three-year contract.
If we trade Framber, I want young, controllable talent (ala the Tucker trade). I wish we'd work something with the O's. They really need SP and we could use some of their young talent (they are loaded).MaxPower said:
While Grichuk won't be "big money", he would certainly be enough to put us over the luxury tax threshold. If that's really their goal then they can't really make any moves.
I'm hoping they can come up with a creative Framber trade. Could you trade with the Phillies to get Suarez and Marsh (obviously we also have to send other pieces to them)? Both Suarez and Framber will be free agents who will get a QO. Phillies would prefer Framber's ability to go deep and more consistent performance as a top end starter. That would likely save you enough money to sign a Grichuk.
The Rangers add to their bullpen depth by signing veteran reliever Shawn Armstrong to 1-year major league deal

We lost Graveman, Neris, and are looking to move Presley. I hope we have some projects or prospects in mind to fill in. Abreu and Hader can't pitch every night.
Christian Walker's three-year contract with the Astros contains a limited no-trade clause that will allow him to block a trade to six teams, a person familiar with the deal said. It will pay him $20 million in each of the next three years.

Walker seems to bring veteran level maturity and discipline to the clubhouse that can replace those same traits Alex Bregman has

Ken Rosenthal reports that the Marlins are expected to get "roughly $70 million, if not more" in MLB revenue-sharing money next year. Could be the subject of a grievance if they don't spend more of it.
