Four of those six teams are the White Sox.EastCoastAgNc said:Christian Walker's three-year contract with the Astros contains a limited no-trade clause that will allow him to block a trade to six teams, a person familiar with the deal said. It will pay him $20 million in each of the next three years.

We can crap on Boras all we want, but he still works for the players. Maybe I'm being completely naive, but just as much blame lies on the players too. They are trying to squeeze every penny out of these clubs.
I love Bregman and wish him well, but the more players get "screwed" by their agents the better.

Bregman is gonna go somewhere and turn into a s***head when he blows for the 1st 6 weeks of the season and the fans have zero tolerance for it. He'll start having to answer tough questions about his involvement in the cheating scandal and I could see him falling apart, Anthony Rendon style.
Honestly, Bregman and Tucker were two of my least favorite "stars" in the history of this team and I feel like the organization may have a clearer future without them here.

Yeah….. I don't think Alex and Rendon have anythjng in common aside from they both play third base. Couldn't be more different as people and ballplayers.

Bregman's agent, Scott Boras: "Over time, teams learn if you’re running from leadership and talent, you’re running from the ultimate goal."

Boras needs to choke on a chicken bone.
His job is to get his client a contract. He burns as many bridges as he builds.
I have to believe that there are GMs that just refuse to deal with him.
MaxPower said:
Unfortunately you have to deal with him, he has too many clients. That said, you know what his shenanigans are and the team was smart to move on when it appeared talks were going nowhere.
And Boras is a "flea on the nutsack of society"Wabs said:
Good Lord. Breggy was a critical piece of this golden era in Astros history. Best 3B we've ever had, 2-time World Series champion, and I'd say top 10 all time Astro. Dude was nails.
OK, well now we have to hear the whole list. The Beef01 said:

If you see Bregman, Tucker and CJ Stroud out for dinner one night, do you say hi or just start throwing punches? The Beef01 said:

Quote:
Alex Bregman is likely the premier position player on the free-agent market this winter, with a wide array of suitors still expected to pursue the two-time champion and two-time All-Star. But the leader of the Astros' dynasty may need to wait until 2025 to sign his next nine-figure deal.
The multi-team pursuit of Bregman is currently complicated by the trade market of fellow third baseman Nolan Arenado, according to The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal. Arenado, 34, is three years older than Bregman, and his offensive decline is more precipitous as both players exit their respective primes at the plate. But the economics of Arenado's contract could make him an appealing value alternative to Bregman, whose deal "could approach or exceed $200 million," per Rosenth

Moving Caratini alone doesn't look like enough money to do much. Not many free agents sign for $6M these days. Even a guy like Grichuk will likely get $8-10M.
Move Pressly and Caratini and we're looking at almost $25M, right? That would net us someone pretty good (Santander, Teoscar) if we can do it before they sign elsewhere.Farmer1906 said:MaxPower said:

Cots has us 5 under the tax. Caratini moving would give us 11. Just enough to sign someone.
