If we free up money and move Presley / VC, we need to spend some on addressing the bullpen. I agree OF would likely need to be either a bargain bin player or trade. Can't Salazar pay some outfield too?

We have to take risks somewhere. We have a lot of guys coming back from injury who may be better served in bullpen roles and our high end minor league pitching talent has bullpen stuff (Ullola is mainly a two pitch guy with command issues while Brito is a buck 75).
If you're trying to upgrade from Chas and Jake, moving Salazar to the outfield would be moving in quite the opposite direction in a big way lol

Yeah I'm just grasping for straws to find anyone left handed so can play outfield in the organization.
Haven't heard much about him recently but it's certainly possible
I want to make Salazar a dude then flip him next year when Walker is ready. Keep the influx of new talent in.

The guy we picked up from the Cubs likely starts the season in the rotation. On paper, LMJ and Luace could be contributors, but we'll have to see.

His back was hurting from carrying us the first half of the season
Love Bregs as a player and he's a top-10 Astro for sure. But I think he's declining. He's just not the elite athlete and was able to get every bit of success possible from his talent. The lack of athleticism has caused his body to break down a bit. Astros are smart to not overpay in money and years to take away from the overall potential to win championships.
Will miss his leadership and the way he plays the game but time to move on.

He's expected back in 25 like McCullers & Garcia were expected back in 24.
Garcia had TJ in May 2023 & missed all of 2024. Javier had it in June 2024. 12-18 month recovery so 2nd half of next year at best...but doubtful IMO
