it’s an eyewash nothing quote that people with nothing better to do are using for clicks and impressions. “we’re going to do different things with a player who sucked the past two months.” revolutionary!

Isaac Paredes will play in his first spring game Saturday as a DH, Joe Espada said. Yordan Alvarez will play in a game early next week.

I know we live in the information age where we can parse and dissect every little thing, but it feels like a real concern that Yordan was not ready to go physically as soon as spring training started given his myriad of problems last year.
I hope I look like an idiot 2 months from now when he's back in the MVP chase, but right now and throughout last year there was so much opaqueness to his health, it really makes you wonder what's going on.
Joe Espada: “He has all the skills to be an elite All-Star catcher. Now it’s taking the game to the next level — by his presence, how (and) when he talks to the pitchers, taking ownership of the staff. He needs to take that next step. ... And I truly believe that it’s close.” https://t.co/tXGPM5HghX

Yep - this is not uncommon. They all have their own preferences and ways of ramping up.
Some guys want to jump in and play right away. Others like to ease in more.
Tatsuya Imai’s first batter, Marcus Semien, hit a grounder back up the middle and off his leg. A trainer came out to look at Imai, who threw a few practice pitches and will stay in the game.

Chandler's comment is him saying "well duh the new team is saying they're going to fix the guy who didn't do well at the previous location."
He's throwing shade at those, I'm guessing in his comments and on X, who are saying see, the Astros hitting coaches sucked because the Blue Jays coaches essentially are saying they sucked.
I'm not commenting on the former hitting coaches one way or another, just commenting on Chandler's response.

Has the makings of a disaster. Gets pulled early or misses a start for "precautionary" reasons and costs him basically $1M each time.EastCoastAgNc said:The performance bonuses in Max Scherzer’s one-year, $3M contract with the Blue Jays, according to a source: $1M each for 65, 75, 85, 95, 105, 115, 125, 135, 145 and 155 innings.
