Triston McKenzie sat 95.9 MPH on his fastball today and hit 98.7 MPH!

He struggled with locating his pitches overall, but the ridiculous increase in velocity will be one of the must-follow Spring Training stories.
His previous career-high was 96.5 MPH. pic.twitter.com/oQJzaV5nSR

All Dana does is leak and talk.
Old Astros regimes made moves nobody was talking about. Out if nowhere to us. Dana leaks and talks- everyone knows what he is trying to get done, but he doesn't know how to execute without Crane forcing it through with money.
maybe, but he definitely does talk a lot. It makes him look stupid, whether it's ultimately his fault or not.texasaggie2015 said:tylhair said:

It has way more to do with lack of assets than anything else.

Then I guess we know the answer to that. We need to build up the farm system.
Of course everybody wants to win, but I think we are not being honest with ourselves (read: internally the Astros) about what we can accomplish.

Imai on line 1. No one saw that coming.

Does MLB allow teams to trade draft picks, or are they stuck with the normal plus compensation from QO and stuff?
Trading Tucker was a smart move, but we still don't have a ton of prospects over the last 5 years
MLB draft is different from NFL or NBA. You are years away from them making your team, which could be drastically different. It's much more of a BPA scenario, especially with a much lower hit rate. It's also much easier to trade prospects in MLB.txags92 said:
Dana strikes me as one of those GMs that drafts a WR with his #1 draft pick, even though the team already has a stacked WR corps because "he was the best available when our pick came up". But then fails to address the glaring deficiencies on the OL and DL until the 5th and 6th rounds. Imai was certainly a good get and will hopefully be successful enough to make us not miss Framber too much (shouldn't be hard). But Dana whiffed on the rest of his list of high priority needs in the offseason, namely adding some power and a LHH or two to the lineup. So yeah, we got a few good pitchers who will hopefully help. But overall, I would give his offseason a D- because he didn't address the glaring needs that held us back from success in the 2nd half of the season.

As has been stated, we have minimal trade capital. Paredes is the best option on the bench g league team but I suspect we valued him more than other clubs because of how well he fits our park. What few good prospects we have I doubt Dana wants to trade.
Dana's problem is his mouth but that doesn't mean he's stupid. The only bad move made under his tenure is one he had little input on (CW).
