I don't think Seager wants to be a captain. I think Langford has caught on to that and has taken over the position of team leader/captain. Hoping he has a big year.

That sucks for Freeman, he was supposedly competing with Smith for 2B. But I think it was Smiths job to lose on reality.
This may put Helman on the opening day roster now. I had seen a roster projection from Evan Grant that left him off prior to this.

2 months ago I got a ban, and my post played out the exact way I expected. IYKYK. Not going to go out in a blaze. The ban helped break the daily interest in contributing and my overall interest in the site has about run its course... and if I don't get out now, I'm likely to get sucked back in for the season. I think your sentiment is shared by many here, at least so far as "social media" is concerned. I believe many are worn out with streaming platforms, Twitter, instagram, message boards, censorship and the like.
It'll be an interesting year for our Rangers, and like you I'm not quite sure how I feel about some of it, but at the end of the day we can root for good baseball weather, good ball and winning some games. It's been great mixing it up the last few years.

I think if posters are having to announce that they are going to be out, good chance the hooks are still in them.
Not that it matters to anyone, but I was a paid subscriber to TA for over 20 years, never banned a single time, and yet I dropped my stars a number of months back. It's not the same place it used to be.
I'll probably catch a ban for saying this, but IMO Billy et al spend more time bragging about how great their product is and not enough time actually making it great. It used to be a lot better as far as I'm concerned. A sense of arrogance and entitlement has crept in with a lot of posters. Maybe that's just my perception.

I think I've said this before, but I use Texags primarily for the Cowboys, Rangers, Stars, Mavs, Liverpool etc. forums. I enjoy playing armchair GM and chatting about professional sports far far more than I do regarding Aggie sports. Aggie sports is a toxic place a lot of the time.
Of all the boards on this site this is my favorite. I completely agree that it is not as good as it once was, but do still enjoy it.
As far as this team is concerned I really think it is going to be a very solid team. The back end of the bullpen is my biggest concern. I think the hitting will be much better than last season. I'm not sure I like the fact that we might be more aggressive on the bases this season but I get it and it might help.

I, too, mainly use TexAgs for everything outside of Aggie sports way more than I use it for Aggie sports.

Just drop your star and go with a free account, and posit on here when you feel like it. I pretty much just post on this board and the Aggie baseball board and that's it. I do skim through F16 sometimes, but dropped premium a couple years ago or so.

I agree. For whatever reason, this particular board accepts or tolerates alternative perspectives or opinions better than others (when it comes from a fellow fan).

A glimmer of good news regarding Walcott, at least he did not require the full TJ surgery. Now there is a chance he can return in August or so for hitting.
Sebastian Walcott had successful UCL surgery. It was an internal brace procedure, performed by Dr. Meister. Rangers expect a 5-6 month recovery.

There was another ump who had a bad day yesterday or the day before. Saw it on twitter, it was a Red Sox game and I believe the ump had 5 overturned before one a review finally went the umps way.

I think this going to be a great thing for baseball, make strategy more interesting, and have less of an impact than you think.
