Definitely feels like the right call out of the gate pitching wise. Latz is still going to pitch a ton and likely could be the first reliever out of the pen so long as its not in the 8th or 9th inning.

You also need to give Rocker the opportunity to continue to grow considering where you drafted him and have invested in him. Doesn't mean you have to stick with him long term if it gets bad, but I think we need to see what it looks like in regular games again.

Latz made the decision a little easier when he got hammered in his last spring training start. I do like Latz through, he deserves a spot on the roster. He will get some spot starts, at a minimum.

I could see Corniell, Davalillo, or Santos getting some run at some point (or even joining the bullpen). All 3 are near the point of being big league ready. Latz could be stretched out as well, he did surprisingly well in that role last year. Later on Bradford or Montgomery could emerge as options pending their rehabs.

Cable and satellite providers
RSN has partnered with several traditional cable providers to air Rangers' games in Dallas. Customers of DirecTV, U-Verse, Spectrum and Astound Broadband will be able to watch the RSN channel, which will air around 135 games this year.

Streaming options
More digitally inclined Rangers fans will be able to watch RSN on Victory+, the same streaming platform that currently hosts Dallas Stars games. While the Stars' games air for free on the platform, the Rangers Sports Network will cost fans $100 for a subscription to watch.
FuboTV is another streaming option for RSN. The streaming platform will offer Rangers Sports Network as a standalone subscription that can be locally paired with a Fubo Free plan or Latino plan. This would include the same games available to cable customers.

Interesting scenario in todays Ranger game…. runner on 1st, 3-2 count on batter…. pitch is called call 4…. runner moving from 1st to second on the pitch pulls up into a trot to second on ball 4, catcher still throws down and tag is applied….. pitch is challenged…. still a ball so everything is fine……. but if pitch was overturned to a strike, batter will be out……. but is baserunner gonna be out because he was easing up because pitch was called ball 4

Leiter looks sharp

I've been following Gavin Collyer as well, and the Rangers may have a future bullpen piece with him. His velocity saw a bit of a jump last year, and he's got interesting metrics with plus stuff. His delivery does give his some consistency issues with strike throwing, but he's got some upside.

Gavin Collyer recorded 2 strikeouts on the night, the first of which was on a 99 mph fastball to Josh Rojas that had a vertical approach angle of -3.3 degrees.
