Didn't think about that.. I doubt it. Do they clear the mountain before night skiing, or is continuous from the afternoon?
I'm sure when they scan the lift ticket, it would say invalid if they wanted it to.

So I called, almost $90 for a half day. WTF! $10-15 less than a full day.. talk about getting raped..

I think A-Basin is $50-60 for half day, it's ten minutes from Keystone, and parking/walking takes less time.

Super long shot here....

But my roommate is trying to move out of state. Trying to find someone to live with me ASAP. Anyone checking this thread moving to Denver late Jan/Early Feb? I live downtown, in between LoDo and 5 points.

The Denver thread has to stay near the top of this forum!

We need something to talk about. Golf, skiing, weather, restaurants or bars?

Here's a couple random things for the people who are new to Denver:
-Cherry Creek Market: I believe it begins in late May & runs for 4-5 months on Saturday mornings. Go there if you want to view "scenery", eat awesome food (breakfast, lunch, dessert, anything), and buy some great fruit and veggies. Specifically, if you have not yet had a Palisade peach.... you are in for a treat.
-Rockies' opening day on April 5th: I was blown away the first time I went. It's like a one-day Spring Break for young professionals. The bars are out of control starting late morning, and they stay that way until at least midnight.

My wife and I are heading up to Dener next month for a "scouting" trip and to sneak in a quick day or 2 of skiing. We've been flirting with the idea of moving up there for a while, so we decided we should go check out Denver with moving there in mind.

So, any recommendations on things that have more of a local flair we should do while we're up there? Obviously we are going to go check out various neighborhoods, etc. but I'm looking for ideas on places to eat and maybe some fun stuff to do around town. Thanks in advance!

Oh, and if I had to pick one or two taprooms or beer bars to go to, where should I go? Planning on hitting up Tommyknocker on our way back in from skiing right now.

Well damn there's a good dozen or more breweries in downtown Denver or nearby. Just pick some! Check out www.beermapping.com for a complete mapped list. If you like Belgians look no further than the cheeky monk. Just east of the capitol. About 20 or so real Belgian ales on tap.

whoops.. beermapping not brewmapping

I checked out Tommyknockers on my birthday. Beer was good but the chicken and waffles was stellar.

Great Divide is a no-brainer. Some of the best beer in the world & a good place to hang out.

I love Tommyknockers. Idaho Springs has several really good places eat: Beau Jo's pizza, Main Street Restaurant for breakfast (great pancakes and burritos; I assume their lunch is good too), Marion's is supposed to have solid breakfast too, and there are several sandwich places and Italian restaurants. Also, there is a candy & ice cream shop on the corner about 100 yards east of Tommyknockers... really good ice cream and chocolate.

If you want coffee, Java Mountain Roasters (next to Main Street Restaurant) is out of this world. I've gotten 2-3 pounds of their stuff to go, and it is some of the best coffee I've had.

Great attitude. I skied 3 days last weekend, and I'll probably play golf twice this weekend. I hope we get a big snow dump within the next month, but I'm ready for full-out golf season in March or April.

I've been french pressing the Sumatra blend from Dazbog for a few weeks. Good stuff. Very comparable to the place in Idaho Springs.... however, the Idaho Springs' coffee gets me LIFTED!

We're going to be all over. We'll probably be around downtown by dinnertime and we're staying in DTC. So basically anywhere around or between there..we're pretty open.

You could try Venice at 1700 wynkoop.

I personally don't think there is a good Italian place since Pagliaccis closed their doors. My favorite place to eat is The Cherry Cricket. It's a cool bar in Cherry Creek.

Make sure you have a Dazbog coffee while you are here.

Venice looks like a winner, thanks. Will definitely find some Dazbog coffee. Not sure if hitting up the Cherry Cricket will be able to happen with the schedule we'll be on, but it's on my short list of places to check out.

If you miss te cherry cricket you have failed miserably my friend...miserably.

Cricket burger smoked cheddar cheese jalapeños mayo and mustard. Order of frings on the side and you are set.

Italian schmallion!

Vegetarian wife will beg to differ. I think I may be able to make it work for lunch or something on our way to the airport our last day there.

Thanks for the heads up on Dazbog location. Will definitely be hitting that one since its the nearest one to our home base.

If your wife is a vegetarian I would also suggest Jerusalems on Evans over by DU. It is a local spot and is actually across the street from the first ever Chipotle location. So technically you are going on a historic sightseeing trip.

I am a big fan of Jerusalem's falafel plate.

If your wife is a vegetarian, let me bring her some brisket...worked on DB's wife!

Lets be clear here.

He is speaking of a literal smoked brisket. Not a "brisket" in Texags lingo.
