Rahm has to stick around to keep his $$$ since he was later to jump over, but the dude is a competitor so this has to start to eat at him.
Rahm also prolly go twice the amount or more of brooks and Reed type paychecks. He will survive

Nobody is happy with LIV. They are going to 72 holes. That was not what they all signed up for.

I really don't think any of the golfers gave a **** about 54 or 72 holes. And once it became a point of contention for OWGR points I'd bet all of them other than the geriatric euros who joined for the retirement prize wanted 72. Waiting so long to change was one of the biggest self inflicted issues they incurred in an attempt to be relevant.

Multiple players, including Bryson, have complained about the move and said it's "not what they signed up for."

To my knowledge, Rahm is the only guy to publicly support the move.

Yeah that's called negotiating in a contract year.

I love that you make up a statement that's not supported by basically what anyone has said publicly. I point out the public statements that contradict your baseless claim (and it was more than just Bryson) and then you respond with snark and the smirk face.

Never change.

Bryson is the only person you brought up with a direct quote. The snippet you selected was also part of a larger quote. Here's the full statement

Quote:

"I've got a contract for this year, and we'll go through it there and see what happens after that. Look, it's 72 holes, it's changed, but we're still excited to play professionally and play for what we're doing and go across the world. I think it's going to be great for our [Crushers GC] team. Is it what we ultimately signed up for? No. So I think we're supposed to be different, so I'm a little indifferent to it right now.

"Hopefully it weighs positively on me over the course of time, but you never know. I'm not sure. We didn't sign up to play for 72."

It's absolutely a negotiation tactic and to think differently is idiotic.

That said, feel free to bring up direct quotes from all the other multiple players who have publicly railed against them for the change to 72. I'll be happy to say my opinion that most of the non old euros on LIV don't care about 54 to 72 is wrong.

They took a survey a year ago and all but 3 wanted 54 - at least per Tyrell Hatton. Already posted above

Bryson on 72:

DannyDuberstein said:

And from Tyrell Hatton below, guys are going to say the right thing now, but almost none of them wanted this move to 72

But Rahm was one of those pushing for it and would obviously have some pull. He had to be one of the 3

Yes I fully acknowledge anyone who is asked if they'd rather a 4 day work week vs 3 day would vote 3 day. But after the change was made, please find me the quotes of the golfers in that league publicly against the move.

The only reason I've responded in the first place is because you made the original statement that no one "cared "" and that was contrary to pretty much all published reports. I thought maybe you were unaware so I was just trying to help, not argue. Silly me.

Bryson, Casey, Oosthuizen, Bubba have all expressed displeasure with the format change. If you want to read their quotes, you can find them yourself.

I always find it interesting that you pull opinions out of your ass, and then when people simply try and point out that you may be incorrect, you demand proof, as though this were court of law, while never even attempting to substantiate your original comment that started the whole thing.

I said I didn't "think" any of the serious guys on LIV truly cared that they added a 4th round.

That's, like, my opinion. Not a major deal. You're free to disagree. And you didn't offer anything other than a snip of a comment from a dude who's in the most public professional golf negotiation maybe in history.

I always find it interesting how you and 2 others rush to counter any post on this board about LIV, even when my original post that got you so riled up was basically bashing LIV for their own stupidity.

Oh dang! Those darned receipts. If only yall read what I actually said and not what you think or wanted me to say, you'd probably all agree. It was the most mundane post ever.

Them not getting OWGR points was a point of contention when the league was just getting started, so really, all the complaints have been after that technically.

They aren't going to come out against the folks writing the checks after it's already a done deal. What's the point when it's already done, not productive. We know their opinion when it was up for consideration which was near unanimous, but it ultimately got sacrificed for rankings.

We know they wanted 54 but not as badly as LIV wanted OGWR rankings. That's the long and short of it.

So after demanding receipts from anyone who disagrees with you, you're now gonna pull the "it's just my opinion" card. Amazing.

And the only reason I respond to LIV posters is they are consistently the most uninformed posters on this board. No understanding of OWGR, how the PGAT is structured, etc. So I invariably get lured in to try and at least correct the record on a few of these things in the mistaken belief that y'all want to have a good faith conversation. I shouldn't take the bait.
Bunk Moreland

I literally said "think" from the jump. You then did your very expected thing you always do and tried to "well actually" a very benign opinion post.

And lmao at "liv posters." This isn't politics. I've never once chosen a side. Though you and others clearly did from the start. Which is fine and I understand.

You tried very hard to read way too much into my post.

As I said earlier, my original response to you was merely to let you know that some guys had voiced displeasure. Because I thought you might be interested in it. You clearly weren't and instead responded with a bunch of snark. So here we are.

Nothing in my first post was argumentative or insulting. You're the one who changed the tenor of the conversation. If you want more civil discussions, maybe work on your end as well.

All I did was reply saying Bryson was clearly using the talking point for contract negotiations in what I thought was a very normal discussion. I didn't call you out. You were the one who did that.

Sorry if you think I was insinuating anything other than just discussion.

They've given points ...for the pga tour

I have bolded the important part. The PGA tour is getting points in instances due to the combative nature of getting on the tour itself, and the competition involved. For example...Anthony Kim off the couch isn't getting a shot on the PGA tour nearly a decade since he last competed.

Anthony Kim is a pretty cool story though. I wouldn't be surprised if he wins a tournament in the next two years.

This guy knows ball.

I stand corrected. Nice call!
