I was being a detective.

When setting up a gmail account, you have the option to set up an email if your password gets lost.

That leaves two options: You can either set up the return email, which I was originally attempting to look up, or you can leave it blank. Then whoever finds out first, can claim the email on any previous email account.

So, I went in, and set it to an old email I had laying around. Tada!

I did reverse IP lookups on each of the emails he sent. Turns out hes from California.

So we have a D&C Engineering Major named Ben from California.

Edit: He may not be from California, but either is currently in California, or set up a proxy through Cali.

But I took it back again. We're fighting for it. I gave it a different email, so maybe I can keep it this time.

All I can say to this kid is man up or punch. I get the overcrowding...if that's a real issue (I never saw it when I went back for my outfit's reunion).

However, griping about having to take ROTC and SOMS is absurd. You knew you were going to have to do it. They counted toward electives to a point for my degree back in not quite so Ol' Army. If you're griping about the very minimal expenses of being in the Corps then go get a summer job that pays well or work on campus. It isn't that hard. Ya, Duncan usually blows, but anyone who doesn't love hamster and cheesy chicken doesn't appreciate the finer things.

Anyone not jumping at season tickets at that price is a 2%er and should look into two options...go to University of Nice Try in Denton or go back in time to when Houston didn't have a football team to speak of and no one cared. Odds are they aren't leaving the game without a voice.

Time? You're worried about time? Give me a break. I had engineer buddies who pulled 4.0s and still went out...and were RVs.

This kid has no idea how much easier they have it than my buddies...much less guys in real Ol' Army when quadding was encouraged and steam shower crap outs were fair game.

Cheesy chicken was the bomb diggity. I would still eat that at any given chance to this day.

So my son is in the band and my wife is an Academic Advisor for electrical engineering, a Corps Academic Advisor, and a SOMS teacher. Because of this, I can say with 100% certainty that SOMS and ROTC classes do not count against the 150 hour limit.

Suck it up. The inconvenience required for the privilege of wearing the gunclub emblem is cheaper than it has ever been and yet he can still whine.

In the "compare to the service academies" slant, lots of USAFA cadets got to triple up as 4 degrees (fish) in the old days, dropping to 2 person rooms the other 3 years, and a few firsties (zips) got single rooms. But beginning in about 2010, they began about a 5-10 year remodling of all the dorms. They don't have extra dorms or apartments like A&M, so as they demo a dorm, all those cadets get slammed into 3 person rooms, some of them all the way to 3rd year, and nobody has single rooms anymore.


Regardless, wonder how our precious snowflake A. Cadet would have fared at Aggieland back around 1916?

The main reasons for the triple-stats is because of the current dorm renovations (which address his complaint of "unsatisfactory" living conditions). Other reasons include the large incoming freshman class, which is one of the biggest classes in years. All in all, 99.99% of his grievances are either already being taken care of, or they are worthless things to complain about. Thanks and gig'em
