quote:So learning land navigation, first aid skills, small unit leadership/organization and learning how to use and maintain a weapon have no practical application in life? OK.
My first complaint is with the fact that cadets are REQUIRED to take classes that have no practical application to their major, ROTC and SOMS classes. All cadets have to take these classes to be in the Corps, as per federal law, however they do not count for anything meaningful;

$9006 for 15 credit hours
quote:Try being in the FTAB back in the Jackie Sherrill era when we went to every game - home and away. At least in The Corps it is easier to find others in your major/classes to study with.
Cadets are at a SIGNIFICANT academic disadvantage as compared to the normal college student

paying $225 for football games
quote:Or... people have a hard time arguing against you when you say you can't afford it. I couldn't afford that stuff either but I figured out how to get it done someway or another.
Many former cadets didn’t quit because they hated the Corps, they quit because they couldn’t afford it.
quote:I assume that's a temporary condition. On the bright side, you get to meet another roommate. When I was tripled up, I had to live with a guy who was in Texas Monthly a few months back who makes his living as a political rabble rouser in Austin
Cadets are now being forced to live 3 to a room
quote:Wait until you get into supporting salespeople in real life. The Corps is excellent preparation for real life.
It is despicable and tiring.

I will be posting this on various social media sites, such as Reddit and Facebook, and to various other media locations on Monday July 1st, 2013.

One of the greatest accomplishments of the Corps is that it is growing at an exponential rate.
