It is and it isn't. It's not like we're super relevant nationally in basketball anyway. If it doesn't work we just try something else in a few years.

At least there's almost no way this ends up with us being mediocre.

There was a 0.0% chance we were going to get a splash hire. It has never happened in the history of A&M basketball and there's no reason to think it was going to happen here. Maybe this new guy will work out...maybe he won't. We have no idea. We are not a destination job for college basketball coaches. Either Bucky will do poorly and he'll get fired...or he'll do well and get hired away by a better program.

Until we change the culture at A&M, it is always going to be that way. Until we care about anything other than a.) football and b.) obsessing over Texas, we will just be a so-so basketball program that won't have the ability to attract splash hire type coaches.

I'm perfectly fine with this hire. Hope he does well and becomes the most legendary head coach in Aggie hoops history. Hopefully this guy isn't just a "grab the money from A&M and get lazy" like some of our football coaches have done.

The fact is Buzz Williams basketball was not fun! He's not a good coach. He's a great person and he needs to be either a cheerleader or a guidance counselor. Moving on from buzz.

Let's give our new coach a chance. He's probably on his way to campus now and we need to show him some respect. He hasn't coached a second of Texas A&M basketball, but he deserves a chance.
