So is your solution to try to hit is softer?

Solution is to stop swinging out of your cleats (exit velocity) with an exaggerated uppercut (launch angle) and concentrate on making contact and putting the ball in play. No one cares if it's in the air or on the ground or how fast it gets there if all that you've done previously is make outs.
I don't have college data, but in the MLB something north of 70% of ground balls are outs. I don't think that's great solution outside of specific situational hitting.

See, that's the flaw in your thinking. This is not MLB. Put the ball in play and good things can happen.

I played on probably the worst 5A high school team in the state of TX in the last millennium. And I'm confident that team would have the same number of runs against this Bama staff today, and looked only slightly more inept in doing so.

It is a shocking departure. It seems we have no situational awareness. Schott swinging at the 1st pitch with 2 on in the 4th is a perfect example. It's just so strange because I have a feeling Schott wouldn't have swung at that pitch last year. The goal is to get on base and work the pitcher. What the hell is going on with this team???

At least Fran had some skins, hiring him was understandable. Turns out, there was no reason to hire Earley, nothing, other than the players liked him. He's never been a head coach.
