I know I'm not the only old Astros fan here so maybe someone else will remember this.

In the summer of '69 the Astros hit two grand slams in the same inning against the Mets. Yeah, the amazing ones. Denis Mienke and Jimmy Wynn hit them.

But that wasn't strangest thing about that game, or even that inning. Fred Gladding was a relief pitcher for Houston who finished his career with the lowest non-zero career batting average in mlb history (a 0.061 average, one hit in 61 at bats). His one hit came in that inning.

A lot of credit to the coaching staff getting this team's heads in the right place. I was definitely critical early season but it's impressive to see them playing hard and grabbing some Ws.

I'll admit I quit watching our game at 12-5. We're in Austin and saw the Kentucky win on the local news. I told my wife "I'd feel a lot better about the whorns losing like that if we hadn't lost to a bad team today. Let me see what the final score was - we were losing 12-2 at one point." Holeee chit.

A little surprised they didn't call runner lane interference on the batter-runner. He clearly was inside the foul line with his left foot and with the double base, I didn't think the college umps were giving any latitude on that call.

Glad they didn't call it because we get to enjoy one heck of a day and the best A&M comeback since 1989 against the sips.

My daughter was running at the Arkansas Invitational.
My son has prom.
My other daughter is having her 15th day party at Galveston.

But I checked in periodically.

Glad the other 3 kids didn't have life events today. I've been to wheelchair basketball national championships in Richmond, the NCAA championship in San Antonio, and hiked Y Mountain in Provo the last week. Today was roller coasters and prom suits. Glad to get the sweep. And maybe some sleep.
