I'm still not convinced we couldn't have made a damn solid run at Rob Vaughn if we had wanted to. I have a terrible memory but I don't remember even any rumors of taking an actual pass at him. The only blocker would have been Bama itself but given what we throw around money wise in contracts, we could easily beat them running. Coach Vaughn has been on that good/great line since at Bama but I think with our resources and talent pool, he actually could have turned those into something more than what he has done at Bama so far.

Wrong. Have spoken with some ex-players who have a relationship with Skip. He has no desire whatsoever to coach here.
None.

Had to hire Earley because of the body blow dealt by Schloss. Apparently we took a hard swing at Vitello that didn't work out. That would have been great and likely kept the players.

Imagine if we had gone another direction and half of the team wore orange the next year. That was too much to risk.

Now we have a mediocre coach that plays some weird analytics and talks in baseball cliches. We've been here before and it doesn't end in the finals.

Unfortunately our former coach a professional coach that talks in a real way and coaches with grit and strategy. Hate that he left and gave tu a huge power move against us,


We will need a new coach soon. We have the fan base, NIL, facilities and everything we need.

There's a lot of bad one of the worst is a short baseball season, means a really long football offseason

He lost to winless Missouri at home last season and is on course to miss the NCAA tournament 2 years in a row. His current SEC record is terrible and he isn't ready to be a head baseball coach.

I somewhat agree with this offensively because I feel like our coached approach at the plate has limited the talent of our hitters. But we don't have SEC arms. I don't know how many times it has to be said. We just don't. They just don't have the stuff to get outs against these lineups.

It's hard for me to think of a reason for firing a coach mid-season, other than your potential targets declining to discuss the job before you have an opening, but that doesn't seem to be an impediment these days. Doesn't the transfer portal open once you fire a coach, or is that just football?

Time for a proven HC to be hired. I wish the best for Mike but it's time to move on.
