Questions/observations I have
1. Should the lineup be constructed better? Bear's OBP and OPS are high enough to merit top-4. Duer has struggled. Nico is a freshman coming back from injury
2. I know USC is saving their ace, but can we afford to do that? Even if we win today, wouldn't it be nice having our #1 pitcher available earlier in the regional?
3. lol at some of us, myself included, getting panties in a wad over a top-8 seed with this pitching staff

The team clearly came into this thinking it was going to be a repeat of the game in March. Hopefully it's not too little too late.

Yes, against Miss State, he saved our ass and is a big reason we won that series

So far we're being shut out. I'm not worried about not starting Sims. We need some runs.
Also, Sims hasn't gone first all season long. It isn't like we've changed things up by not starting him today.

Actually those that were being realistic were also concerned about their Ace with a offense struggling as of late

Auburn is legit, that was just a weird upset. Auburn can still win that regional.
Play by play guy struggling as bad as our hitters
When we, almost to a man, went into this hitting slump I never thought it would last through the post season but it has. And we just continue to pop up, fly out, strike out as if that's the ticket. After seeing Milwaukee put 13 on Auburn it's distressing to watch this.
This game is going about as well as my flight. Forced to check bag because it is a Bombardier crj900 with virtually no storage space, no pre flight drinks and I have a VERY chatty toddler diagonally behind me.

What sucks is that we really demonstrated a focus on getting base hits earlier in the year rather than hitting bombs. Somehow our success translated to a confidence where we only wanted to try to hit bombs again? Always swinging for the fences.Gyles Marrett said:tandy miller said:

I had no illusions that this pitching staff was going to throw a shut out but I did not think the offense would continue to press like this. It is our HC's specialty.
