I brought up their coach as a possibility last year and this year as a B-tier candidate. I personally think Fitz>Earley at this point in their careers but there are bigger fish to fry when the time eventually comes.

The UNC pop fly missed by two USC fielders during today's Chapel Hill Super Regional in foul territory about halfway between third base and the outfield wall was much more challenging to catch than the Oregon State pop fly missed in the MCWS at Omaha by three Arkansas fielders next to the 1st base dugout.

Two USC players were running frantically to try to catch the UNC fly ball over their shoulders. It would have been a great Willie Mays-style amazing catch if they could have made it. The dropped Oregon State pop up by Arkansas had three players beneath the ball, but none of them caught it.

It's a little embarrassing that we couldn't pack Olsen last week.

Some posters, earlier, were trying to justify that it was okay that Olsen Field was not packed for what turned out to be the last game of our season because it was at 8 p.m. on a Monday.

Disch-Falk Field (Texas) and Alex Box Stadium (LSU) consistently are packed for all regionals and superregionals. There is no excuse for the lack of fans at Olsen when ALL season tickets are sold out and there is a long waiting list for more season tickets.

The 12th Man Foundation needs to figure out how to put Aggie fan butts into seats for our post-season home games.

1) Austin has a population of a million. Pretty easy to fill a park on a work night (with no school in session) with that proximity. Especially when half your actual sports fans are just 30 minutes down the road in San Marcos.

2) I fear a lot of Aggies saw the writing on the wall. They knew our chance of getting past USC after that blowout on Sunday night, having to rely on our CLOSER to get as many outs as he could (and props to him, he pitched his ass off) was prob about 10% at best. I had no delusions about winning that game Monday night. It's just not what we do. Stepping up when it really really counts is for teams like Ole Miss and Oklahoma and Bama and, sadly, sip. We just seldom ever do it. Which is why the '24 team was so amazing. We were 27 outs away from a freaking natty in spite of our inglorious history and a 100% checked-out head coach

They lost only 2 series, I think.

I don't know. Living in Mid-Missouri I never considered going. But someone ate all of those empty seats. The tickets were sold.

I know that people were asking $300+ for outfield sets in the week going into the regional. Never checked again during play though.

I think a big part of our attendance problem is that they've priced out many (most?) of the B/CS working folks who used to have baseball season tickets and replaced them with the people (from all over the State) with the most football ticket/donation points. People who obviously aren't making baseball a high priority in their lives.

Wouldn't know. I refuse to watch those A holes. No matter how much I love college baseball, I'd rather sit one out than give those d bags another rating point they can hang their hat on. "See, EVERBODY watches us!!"
