You need an option for "Exhibiting every symptom but doing the 7-10 days waiting at home for results and miserable" option. Good buddy of mine going through that.

I'm pretty much in awe that educated people could still be "skeptical" of this situation

2. So far my BIL has it. In his mid 30's and only minor symptoms. Has a very minor cough and no sense of taste. I believe he is about 5-6 days in. We are waiting on the results of my wife's test, but I suspect we both have it. I couldn't make it to Colorado, but they all spent time in a condo two weeks ago. I have had a cough, nausea and headaches. I feel like I am on the backside of whatever it is because this is almost two weeks for me. With the kids being home from school and us both working, isolating hasn't been an option inside the house. If she has it, I don't see how I wouldn't.

Sorry to break the 11th commandment, but people who are skeptical and looking for this to be a witch-hunt or hoax or whatever are part of the problem, and will result in friends, family members, and random strangers dying unnecessarily. It's absolutely disgusting.

Have taken care of multiple of them. My experience fits published data so far. 80% don't need hospital admission. 20% do. Of those 1/2 or so need ICU admission. Recent published data 50% mortality if admitted to ICU. 75% mortality if intubated. Small study out of Seattle NEJM.

Personally, 4. My uncle is back and recovering at home but was hospitalized for 4 days and 11 days out from symptom onset is just now able to take care of himself completely independently. He's 61 FWIW.

Professionally, 2-8. LOTS of 2-4, multiple 5-6, two 7 and one 8. This includes some other healthcare workers.

Yeah, this whole thing really opened my eyes to how many people on TexAgs that are college-educated or at least like to participate on a college forum are drowning so much in confirmation-bias that they deny even basic math.

It's scary because you know their brain is obviously capable of higher learning, but somewhere along the way something got triggered that made them refuse to learn and instead defend until they are blue in the face.

Its frustrating. It exists on both sides of the 'argument'

I think some of it is just a lack of awareness which is not a new problem. It is just magnified under these circumstances. A lot of people never turn off FoxNews, or CNN. They never read anything but the New Republic or the Federalist. Or they never watch or read anything and just repeat what they hear from their friend. This is not a lot different.

I have been equally disturbed by both the paranoia from some posters and the willingness to bend completely over by others. Pretty crazy.

I don't think this thread is going like the OP hoped.
