Yesterday we learned a friend from Lundazi and family members who were returning from traveling and reentered through Lusaka were tested positive. Jabar Bux (everyone calls him Aliboo) is one of the wealthiest people in Zambia, with a big trucking firm and other businesses. We've actually spoken about him in our presentations because of his support for our work - he has hauled hospital beds from Lusaka to Lundazi for free, given discounts and free delivery on purchased building materials and even facilitated a presentation and distribution of washable, reusable feminine hygiene kits by our partner church's health department for the girls at the Lundazi Muslim school.
Melissa and I actually met with him on March 4 to give him as small gift and thank him for all of his past support and friendship. At the time, he shared about traveling with his family to other countries, but I believe the trip where he caught the virus must have been after our meeting given the timing. That said, it's hard to believe so much has changed in our lives since March 4.
