I'm pumped about hockey. NBC's NHL coverage is really good, and I expect the Olympics to be no different. This is a good time to watch if you don't normally, who knows, maybe you'll get hooked. Team USA is loaded with the next generation of superstars.

Any update on Vonn's condition??

The opening women's Olympic downhill training session was called off after only two racers because of thick fog and low visibility, but Vonn did get in a free run on the mountain -- although not on the official course.

Indeed, her husband, Thomas, called the cancellation "fantastic."

"It's not like all her competitors are getting multiple runs down the course. Nobody got to ski it, really, today," said Thomas Vonn, who serves as a coach and chief adviser to his wife. "So it's another day of healing, and hopefully tomorrow she feels even better."

I think this is the least excited I've ever been for the olympics. And I am definitely into all sports.

There is no good that can come from watching figure skating with your wife.

Watch it alone, in your man cave. Then you can fully enjoy it.

The Games begin with a tragedy. The video of the luge accident was hard to watch.

That video was terrible... So sad.

Canada - Slovakia women's hockey. Just turned it on, beginning of the 2nd period Canada leads 8-0

Incredible short track final. South Korea was about to take 1-2-3, but they take each other out on the final turn and only take 1st. USA ends up with 2nd and 3rd.

I saw that at BWW! I yelled loudly! They took themselves out on the very last turn!!! WHAT A HUGE MISTAKE!

Great performance on that final mogul run. I was rooting for that Bozeman girl though...

4 medals tonight. Great start!

I realy enjoy the Olympics....especially the obscure sports that they only put on tv at like 1 in the morning.

Can't feel bad for Slovakia: They beat Bulgaria 82-0 in a tourny in 2008. What goes around comes around, bi****s!

I had to watch the USA Hockey game on DVR. Great game by America. Bummer we didn't get the shutout. Our team was much faster and handled the puck much better. Fun game.

Does anyone know where to find for purchase, the gray knitted beanie that some of the sportscasters are wearing?

I tried watching women's hockey. No go.

I did get pumped watching the cross country skiing part of the Combined Nordic. That was exciting. Just the way it is setup creates a situation with an exciting, narrowing chase. Disappointed the American barely missed gold, but that was the most exciting race I've watched, in any sport, in a long time.

It was an exciting finish, indeed! Sucks that he couldn't hang on to the lead, but great that we finally got a medal in the event. We finished 2-4-6. Hopefully that sets us up nicely for the team competition.

Nordic combined was awesome to watch.

The snowboard final last night was a good race. I'm catching up on 500m skating right now.

What if someone falls and you can end up with a medal?
Am I missing something here? I know there was ice issues but was that a factor?

He was 18th. There would've had to be a lot of falls for Shauni to medal. It ended up being a late night, and he's a favorite in the 1000 and 1500. For the sake of the sporting attitude, you like to see him tough it out, but from the point of view of his other events, I totally understand.

Also, not a big fan of figure skating (probably my least favorite Olympic sport, summer or winter), but that German guy got a really sweet effect out of that skeleton costume. When he was doing his spins, it looked really trippy on his arms.
