Daria has a chance to end Ohio State #3 Sydni Ratliff's fall season the way it started, with a loss to an aggie. (Mary beat her at the beginning of the season).

Ratliff was the 2022 Big10 freshman of the year, but has seemed to slide a little going 15-14 last year for the buckeyes and is 5-4 this year. Since May 2022 Ratliff is 0-8 against Texas A&M singles and doubles. Her full freshman year stats are unavailable.

I was able to watch only the last few of Nicole's games yesterday. I noticed the coach walked over and talked to her after almost every point. I am certain it was not Mark but one of the new coaches. Is this normal for them to do? I prefer Mark's style to just let them play and say a few words after each game and certainly not after every point. I think most coaches do this, too.

Oops. They already started in Michigan. Daria up 5-3 in the first.

A lot of what they do depends on what the girls respond to. Some of the players need/want that every point encouragement and guidance. Some don't.

I just clicked over from Jeanette's match and saw it at 6-5 and her needing one point to win. Stayed on it.

Jeanette got punished 0-6, 1-6.

With success, it's easy to hope for a transfer or to plug in a transfer to your already stout lineup! But let's give it up for the girls who weren't in the 6 last year, but easily could have been on almost all rosters in the country! They saw what it takes to contribute on a national championship team and we've seen girls progress under Mark! Let's see what Daria and Jeannette can bring!! We all know lines 5-6 are just as important!! Can't wait to see what we look like in the spring!

This year, lines 5 and 6 are the MOST important IMO.
