I love that. One camera, looks like "no cuts", and I am sure it'll be cleaned up before it's released. It absolutely has the same feel as the Netflix series. It just needs to be darker.

i never saw the daredevil netflix series but
Step 1: fix this ASAP. Still one of the best things Marvel has done.

This feels nothing like the Netflix show to me other than it being a oner, those fight sequences were physical and just brutal. This one feels a lot more like a run through, hoping it's not the actual final sequence.

Yeah I really like it too other than what are obviously stopping points in the action. DD coming over the fence was bad ass.

Before even that….how about create some continuity between all of these stories so watching these things actually makes sense seeing how Marvel felt the need to put out a book that's not too unlike this picture below to explain everything….

I actually wish they would get away from the need for everything to fit within a single, continuous story.

Just make an awesome X-Men movie and focus on continuity within that world. Do the same for Blade and other properties.

They've had enough trouble making the Fantastic Four interesting without worrying about how to incorporate Shang Chi into their world

As someone who has fallen out of touch with the most recent phase and hasn't watched much in a while, I'm pretty tempted to just wipe the slate clean and wait for the next big release...whatever that is. I'm assuming Loki S2 essentially wiped the slate clean going forward based on discussion I've seen here.

Also, it made me look up the MCU viewing order to see where I stood in all of this. I have no idea what Runaways, Helstrom, or Cloak and Dagger are. You can see where it started to fall apart for me. The last MCU film I saw was Love and Thunder and the last non-film was Werewolf By Night.

In reality, I will ultimately rent the films I haven't seen but I have no interest in going back and watching any of the streaming properties I've missed along the way.

I've seen everything in bold:

1. Iron Man (May 2008)
2. The Incredible Hulk (June 2008)
3. Iron Man 2 (April 2010)

I doubt most here have seen those, CW/Hulu shows that aren't really MCU. I've only seen Runaways which is kinda fun.

You have missed a few really good ones as noted by another poster, however, I really enjoyed Ms Marvel too.

Wakanda Forever, while not the best action movie, is a really amazing film about how people deal with grief, and unapologetic for it.

Yeah at this point if it ain't Marvel Studios, it ain't MCU (unless otherwise grandfathered in like Daredevil seems to have been).

This movie was way better than I expected after the loss of Chadwick Boseman. I may or may not have shed a few tears in it.

Interesting on WF. I never looked at that thread but I don't really recall any fanfare or much talk about that movie when it came out. I'm probably just forgetting about any of that since i didn't see it and was largely checked out then. That looks to be next on my list anyway.

I'll stand on the table for Ms. Marvel (69 on your list).

Really fun show and Iman Vellani is awesome.

I remember the trailer being one of the best of the last several years. I think if Ryan Coogler could have just told his story and not have to shoehorn Ironheart or Valentina what's her name it would have been a top tier Marvel film.

I'd actually be on board with letting him succeed the Russo Brothers as Marvel's go to director.

A good friend of mine worked on WF and had great things to say about him.

So my wife and I ended up watching WF last night. I liked that more than I thought I would and while I was always against his sister becoming The Black Panther I thought they handled that pretty well. She surprised me because I couldn't stand her in the first film. The opening seemed a little abrupt in that he was suddenly sick and dead with zero lead up to that, but then that's pretty much what happened IRL with Boseman and the public. So I got ok with that pretty quickly.

Namore....was interesting. That casting was god awful and I did not like the silliness aspect of him. That is not at all in his character. They seemed to have recovered from that as the movie went on though. Completely new and different origin story than the comics which i partially get because DC got out there first with Namor's origin story in Mamoa's movie. Obvious political angles there as well in play, but I'll save everyone the eye rolls on that one.

Noticed he called himself a "mutant" as well which I think is the first use of that term in the MCU? Can't recall.

The MIT girl seemed a little extra and unnecessary but whatever. Loved her dad's car though.

Overall, we enjoyed it and I may have liked it somewhat better than the original.

I think the movie would have been much better off without the final Ironheart and Midnight Angel suits. Those were bad and unearned IMO.

Otherwise, solid flick. Would like a little more rage in my Namor but he was pretty good.

Wakanda Forever stunk. The tribute stuff was nice and Angela Bassett is great because she's a great actress… but other than that it was terrible.

But can't be criticized on this board

Bad storytelling and shoehorned in characters are always up for critique.

There was a lot of odd teeth-gnashing back in '18 about BP's box office success however. Ditto Captain Marvel's in '19.

I don't think it was odd. Many of us were merely pointing out the blatant political pandering and virtue signaling for that movie because of the subject matter and focus on black people. Coming out out during the height of BLM added to its virtue signal credentials.

It got close to 100 on RT which was when I stopped paying attention to RT. And I realize how RT works to save someone explaining their methodology to me. Doesn't change anything.

Personally, I believe I ranked it in the bottom half or quarter of MCU movies when it came out. That doesn't take away from Boseman who I thought was perfect for the role. So me saying I liked WF means it's about a 6 out of 10 comparatively because I gave BP a 5 from what I recall.

Regardless, I'm looking forward to the next MCU movie in line because I've been checked out of movies for a while due to life business. Sort of starving for movie entertainment right now and it doesn't need to be an Oscar winner.

Hearing something surprising…sounds like there's a review embargo that won't be lifted for Echo until the 9 pm release date on January 9th.

Holy crap is it that bad???? Normally TC would be on here posting Twitter reactions and it hit me we haven't seen any and apparently this is why….

Honestly now I'm kinda intrigued if something is this bad does it start to cross over into the "so bad it's funny and entertaining" category???

Everything other than that one trailer makes it seem godawful. The minute they moved the release date and announced they were releasing it all at once was a slam dunk that is was probably bad.
