Great news about season 2. Last night's premiere had almost 7 million viewers, so that's a damn good rating. Though it had a Walking Dead lead-in last night. Tonight will be more telling.

Do we have an idea of the timeframe between better call Saul and BB?

Also do we know how many seasons they want to make this? Do see this as intense as BB
The date of the video of the "knuckleheads" that the prosecutor showed the jury had a stamp of October 13th, 2001 on it.

The $700 check he got in episode 1 was dated 5/13/2002

The Breaking Bad timeline starts on September 7th 2009 and ends on September 7th 2011.

OK, I'm all on this one. Brilliant writing, as expected, and Odenkirk definitely can carry a show.

I thought it was interesting that the Kettlemans are basically the Whites. Middle-class Caucasian couple, with dorky husband and controlling wife, husband is probably not real happy with his lame job and was hoping for more out of life, etc, so he gets into crime. The question with them is, who actually stole the money? Did the dorky husband do it and the wife doesn't believe he could have, or did the wife put the husband up to it?

Either way, it's fun to see Saul going after the same kind of people as Walt and Skyler already.

Definitely parallels between the two shows in just the first two episodes. This time around, though, the bad guys come looking to Saul for help instead of the other way around. Looks to be a promising show.

Enjoyed the first two episodes! Lots of similarities with Breaking Bad. I think all of the main characters from BB will make an appearance at some point. The real life Jesse tweeted something along the lines of can't wait for surprises in store.

Just listened to the Grantland podast with Bob Odenkirk, and he said if you liked the first two, wait till you see episodes 6 and 9. Apparently **** really gets crazy.

I really like it. I wish I would have held out and binge watched the whole season on my DVR. It sucks to have to wait a week to see the next episode.

3.4 million viewers last night. Not bad by any means, but quite a step down from the 7 million from Sunday night.

Still a lot better BrBa did until the final season though.

That was the point of having the premier on Sunday after TWD.

I've never seen one second of Breaking Bad and I'm loving BCS. I'm glad that you BB fanboys are getting a kick out of the callbacks to it but not having seen BB hasn't detracted from BCS one bit. As someone stated earlier, it's not too hard to piece stuff together using context clues. Frankly, I'm looking forward to watching this "clean", especially if it stays as entertaining as it's been.

One request though. I DO want to see BB eventually so can I humbly ask that when you guys see something in BCS that is a callback to BB and want to discuss it, can you please provide a ***SPOILER ALERT*** tag?

Thanks!!

Good luck with that going forward. You may want to start a separate thread for that. Once we get a few pages deep there will be people who haven't seen your request.

Like Junkhead said its going to be tough especially "surviving" characters if they get into a predicament or possible guessing of who is going to start showing up like body guards and such. Its going to be tough

You can't ask for a spoiler alert on a separate spin off series, in which you have not watched Breaking Bad. Call in sick for the next couple of days. Watch all of BB, and then come back and discuss BCS with us properly. Thanks

Saul negotiating with Tuco was classic. Then his line about talking a death sentence down to 6 months probation....greatness!

Saul is a great character, and Odenkirk is the perfect player for the part. I am hopeful BCS gets some characters of its own to stand by itself rather than a bunch of callbacks to BrBa. The twins are a good start. Odenkirk is good, but they shouldn't expect him to carry the whole series for 6 years.

E1 and E2 need to be watched together to set up the series. E1 was pretty slow. I had several coworkers mention they didn't watch E2 because E1 was so slow.

Saul is a lot like Walter. Underachiever who falls into badness, not because he wants to, but because he sees no other option.
