Love the show. The special effects are pretty cool for TV.

So, the Doctor is having a relationship with a sentient being- a non biological - in essence, a robot with no emotion. They go to the holodeck and insert a program and the robot takes on a human form so they can have sex.

Isn't the robot pretty much a giant sex toy? Kinda like those life size sex dolls?

Kinda reminds me of that Joquim Phoenix movie, "Her"

And I have to say last night was a pretty damn surprising plot twist. Did not see that coming at all.

For a show that (I assume) has a pretty low budget, this last episode did a great job with the CGI.

Last night's episode was awesome. Sure, Isaac flipping was predictable as hell but the rest of the episodes and characters was fantastic.

As someone who is a big fan of Star Trek, even with the improvements of Discovery's season two has had, The Orville is still the best Star Trek show on right now.

Just got around to watching the last two episodes, and they were really good. That was one of the best looking space battles I've seen in a while. I was very skeptical of this show but they have done a great job with it

Freaking love this show eventhough super lib MacFarlane is the be all of it.

And does Leighton Meester have the perfect face or what? Adam Brody hit a grand slam with her.

They had Tuvoc! More ST cameos.

And the moment he saw her face, I knew it was going to be like Geordi episode of ST:TNG where he fell in love with a hologram.

Barclay, Nog, and Geordi all had episodes where they dealt with the distraction the holodeck offered vs real life. But this episode had a lot in common with Geordi's like you said. Only for his reality to be rocked when he met her in the engineer in person. In think there's some episodes from Voyager that involved the holodeck, but I've latgely forgotten that series.

Bortus makes me LOL every week. The whole scene where he gets a cigarette from the food synthesizer is pure gold. Of course Klyden immediately eats the first one, in true Moclan fashion. Then Bortus tells him that you are supposed to light the end and breathe it in. After they both try one, Bortus orders 500! LMAO

And then every cigarette-related scene thereafter is just awesome...smoke lounge in their quarters, smoking on the bridge, and then the gum that doesn't work!!! LOL

I love this show so much! I hope all the dang gaps they've kept taking this season in airing won't hurt the show. I don't want it going anywhere!

Were we supposed to know who that female leader was? When she and Ed interacted on their planet they acted like they knew each other already. I wasn't sure if this episode was just out of order and maybe we'll see this group again.

Yes. That's the same character that was the female Moclan from when the decision for Topa to undergo the "corrective surgery" and I think testified.

Is anybody else amazed that Bortus stays with his mate? Dude seems to undermine him at damn near every turn, and this last episode was pretty messed up just straight up turning him in to the captain.

Their relationship is funny for sure but they never seem to get along.

From a certain point of view, I get why Klyden or anyone else would report that. Someone who isn't on the manifest or admitted on board can potentially be a danger to the ship itself. On the other hand, Klyden was being a petty ******* and was obviously doing it for purely Moclan motivational reasons.

What's been refreshing about this series is that the characters for the most part have grown organically. And I think that growth is giving way in part to the strife we see between Klyden and Bortus.

But it was glorious when I saw it.

Preempted by damn tornado warnings.

This show has not been renewed yet and I'm getting a little nervous about it. The ratings shot up so hopefully we get another season.
