This is bad. I wish it wasn't. But it is.

This. I thought for sure they would have introduced some kind of "replacement" character by now - i.e. someone more zany/colorful - be it bringing back Rus or giving us someone new. Instead, this whole Jin Yang plotline is only serving to constantly remind us that Erlich isn't there, which feels like a mistake.

I'd love it if they introduce a Jin-Yang like foil to Jin-Yang.

That was the season one finale. Also, we're only two episodes in to this season. I agree that it isn't great so far, but we still have eight episode left. Give it a chance.

I think for many, it could just be the natural fatigue of waiting around a week to watch each new episode. The HBO comedies always feel 10-15 min too short per episode, and with so much of our content these days delivered in a binge package, I think folks get restless if one or 2 eps aren't great...which if they had binged a whole season they'd have gladly overlooked and not even noticed at times.
I dunno, just a thought. Lots of things are in flux right now and I'm trying to hold on to the weekly shows and enjoy them for what they are...but even I find myself sometimes waiting 2-3 weeks on a show and watching 2-3 eps at a time.
