Is it just me, but this was the most likeable Richard has been in the series. At the end, he started acting like someone running his company as opposed to people influencing him in some way or being scared.

It was great to see. He plays the role very well but he's been my least favorite character for a long time. Last night changed that.


Edit: I think his role to decentralize makes me like him too. His discussion how to take power away from Facebook and Google will really resonate with some people in that he's doing this to imoprove upon a great, yet flawed, system.

also, is there any outside shot that the negativity/hostility/weirdness about TJ Miller leaving last year, + all the Erlich info being involved in the storyline, will just be a big ruse for Miller to take a break to finish other things, but ultimately return at the end of this season as a cliffhanger for next year?

I know Miller sort of went out scorched earth, especially against Alec Berg, so maybe it's just SV continuing to have fun at Erlich's expense and nothing more to it. I feel like that's something Judge would do though.

I feel like that's something Judge would do, and I feel like they're just not letting the Erlich stuff go. Every episode has included stuff about him.


GF and I are both 100% in on this. I'm convinced he's coming back at soon as Jin Yang hits it big, which means Erlich is richer now than prior.

It will be in a phone call like Jin Yang used to prank him

I would love it if Erlich returned....honestly I only started watching the show because of him.

I get that he was difficult but as a viewer I don't care.

And they could have either
a. planned it all along as a long con
b. decided after the fact that they could bring him back toward the end and mine some gold in the interim for a great payoff

Only thing that makes me think twice about this are the sexual assault allegations from the end of last year. He's pretty toxic right now, beyond just being a d*ck on set and not getting along with those guys. That said, six months from now, when they're filming the final season, I could see Miller being desperate enough, if the allegations have blown over, to potentially return in a limited capacity. But that could still mean a ton of blowback from the #MeToo movement, so it probably isn't worth the headache on multiple levels. We'll see, though.

in the end his (Richard) character was the way he was because that is how the other CEO left. SV has to show that Jared was right. They (Richard and other ceo, forgot the character name) were/are the same person.

He's not right in the head. The guy has some serious mental issues and he needs to get help. I'm not saying that flippantly, either. He's talked about it before and it sounds like it's only getting worse in the wake of all this turmoil. Hopefully he can find his way out of all this somehow and get right.

I certainly hope he does get on track. I'll admit that I miss him on this show, but seeing the tragic end of so many in the public spotlight of the entertainment industry leads me to believe that some folks might indeed be better off away from the weight of public life and all the pitfalls that comes with it.

Never got the appeal of the guy outside of Bachman...and the whole appeal of Bachman is what a ****stain he is. But that doesn't carry over to other stuff.

He isn't like other horrible person comedians where you can tell a lot of the behavior comes from a place of self doubt and hatred. His sickness seems to come from a place of aggrandize self love.

This is really true. He had a golf ball sized tumor removed from his frontal lobe in 2010.

With the push in big cities to report suspicious behavior, I don't see how they can make a charge stick... Unless he make some wheels off claims on his 911 call.
