I seem to remember seeing a commercial for it during the super bowl and immediately wanting to see it.
pilot. no doubt.Brian Earl Spilner said:

While this is super cool, I think I'd rather see Stahelski direct with them producing. The Wachowskis have some great ideas but I feel like have gotten kind of long winded in their storytelling.TCTTS said:
I did some more digging and it actually looks like Penn has been writing since 2017. So his script has to be done by now. If I had to guess, reading the tea leaves, I'd say there's a chance the Wachowskis are either currently rewriting his script or overseeing additional rewrites.
But yeah, I'm with you. I'm totally down for returning to this world. Seems like a no-brainer.
Exactly. It's a setting that just begs for it if you're so inclined, that's why it worries me.Brian Earl Spilner said:
It would certainly be easier to be trasgender if you can just swap genders when entering the Matrix.

Sigh.TCTTS said:
You realize that's EXACTLY what the first movie was, right? "Unplugging," being your "true" self, etc... it's packed with transgender themes, albeit somewhat coyly.
Perhaps did not do a good job expressing it, but this is what I was trying to say.PatAg said:
The quality of the story will control that, not because it covers a topic that makes you uncomfortable. I would only be worried if they are just heavy handed with it and care less about making a quality movie.
For the record, I don't really care for the topic as a main story line either since we can't relate to it . I will believe this movie is good when it happens, the 2 sequels were not very good imo.
Man, I forgot about that soundtrack, but yes, I absolutely did. Even Dave Matthews had a good song on there.easttexasaggie04 said:
Did anybody else listen to The Matrix Soundtrack over and over and over on their Sony Discman?
While the series definitely touched on LGBT themes, this isn't at all accurate.bangobango said:Sigh.TCTTS said:

How did I know TCCT was going to preach over that comment?
Yes, I realize that if you really stretch it out, and especially if you consider it in the context of what we know about the Wachowskis today, then there are "transgendered" themese throughout the first movie. I can honestly say, however, that I don't think anybody on this thread was really thinking about transgenderism when they left the theater after seeing the first movie.
Obviously, if they keep it like the first movie, then I don't have a problem with it. Sense8 explored similar themes, it involved eight people throughout the world who could all sense and communicate with each other no matter where they were. Out of those eight people, like half of them or something were transgendered or gay. Out of those that were not gay when the series started, several of them ended up becoming either gay or bisexual.
It was a cool concept and I enjoyed the first several episodes, but when it became obvious that it was going to be overly fixated on sexuality I quickly lost interest.
It's just not a theme that interests me or a lot of people, and if that's the way that they go with the Matrix 4, it's going to bomb.

Guitar for me. I used to play as a teenager and was a solid enough player, but I seemed to always hit a wall and could never get to the next level. Maybe I just didn't have enough dedication to really get good.
If I could instantly become as good as a Frusciante, John Mayer, Jack White, etc, that's what I'd do.
