I refuse to believe Armond White actually believes the stuff he writes.

Kyle Smith of National Review was the first to write a bad review for the movie. Don Shanahan of Every Movie Has a Lesson is now the second.

It's not just this movie. He writes a negative review for anything popular.

Back up to 99%. Maybe if enough reviews come in it can actually get 100% again.

Watched it on tuesday night. I loved it. Easily more than TS 3. It has more heart in the overall plot and the new characters were fun.

Damn, more than 3?

Awesome to hear. Excited to check it out tonight.

Have y'all seen the two Toy Story short films? They're excellent and build on the toy's life with Bonnie.

Some great characters with those as well...many of the ones introduced in #3

Pixar does it again. That was awesome.

I think it's close behind 1 and 3 for me, and ahead of 2. I do think this was the funniest one, but the emotional gut punch was a bit worse in 3 than here. (Though I still choked up. Twice.)

Key & Peele might have stolen the show for me. Every one of their scenes had the theater howling. Same with the Forky scenes.

Make sure to stay for all the after credits scenes.

I knew we'd get a Keanu "Woah"!

I just don't understand how anyone could like. TS3 more than TS2. To me, 1 and 2 are 2 of the best movies ever made. 3 is not. Just my opinion.

Lol, you say that as if it's a bad movie. They're all great.

3 really became great for me when I became a father. The talk about toys being there for kids. And that maybe one days Andy would have kids. Then the end ugh absolutely fantastic. Not sure I've ever watched it and it didn't end up being dusty in the room...I could have ended the series there and been happy. But I am so glad they have made another installment. Can't wait for 11:30 tomorrow!

There are/were 4 big releases this year for me and this is far and away most anticipated....

1. Toy Story 4

2. Rise of Skywalker
3. Game of Thrones
4. Endgame

I think Toy Story 2 was a very good movie, but 3 was amazing and may be the best ending to a trilogy of all time. Its the closet a movie has ever gotten me to cry. Part 1 and 3 are both in my top 5 animated films of all time. I doubt part 2 makes my top 20. And I agree on the above post. Watching part 3 as a parent takes the movie to a whole other level.

Just saw it tonight. Liked it but didn't love it. I think it was the most serious of the bunch, though I definitely laughed several times. Didn't have the climactic action scene that the others had which I was expecting at some point, but it did have smaller action sequences which were fun. Solid B+.

Rankings:
1. TS1
2. TS3
3. TS4
4. TS2

That was definitely the funniest of the films. I am a little sad we didn't get more of the older toys but it makes sense for the story they wanted to tell which was woodys. Bo Peep was awesome and the final goodbye scene with the toys choked me up. Also the scene with gabby at the end got me good.

Okay, I'm really not trying to be a dick here, but I just don't understand how anyone could think TS3 is better than TS2.

For me, TS2 is hilarious and creative and unpredictable from start to finish. Off the top of my head I can think of many scenes that made me laugh out loud.

I can't think of a single scene from TS3 that had the same effect. What are the really funny scenes from TS3?

Also, the whole plot of TS3 had already been told in TS2.

I just don't get it.

you are dead inside if you did not cry.
Yeah, whatever. me and all the other dads were just, you know, kind of thinking about that beloved family dog that got squashed by an F350 right in plain view when were, you know, 5-10 years old at the time. Happens. Something about TS3 brought that memory back. Also, I was thinking about the last telecast John Madden did, that was rough. And maybe Old Yeller. But definitely not that silly kids movie. Like, no way man.

Your opinion is as valid as anyone else's. My kids are starting to get a little old for this stuff (although we are definitely going to TS4) but in the days when we watched these movies regularly, my kids absolutely loved TS2. You are right, it is smart and hilarious. The kids never liked TS1 as much but IMO, TS1 was classical Disney in that it has some dark elements that freaked kids out.

My kids were born in 05 and 08 so the only TS movie we saw in the theatre was 3 and the whole family loved it. But I still think the family likes TS2 the best. TS3 is amazing but kind of deep, for kids and parents.

Right at the beginning!

The whole scene showing the imagination of what was inside Andy's head when playing with the toys using some of the exact same dialogue from the first film when there's no way they had the technology to animate all of that.

How goofy, over-the-top silly they made it but still tying it to a little boys imagination was great and if wasn't laughing I was smiling ear to ear.

Th first line that got me laughing was, "THE ORPHANS!" And then immediately cuts to a scene of dozens of trolls sticking their emotionless heads out of a doomed train going over a cliff.

Liked it, didn't love it. The new characters were all great (Trash!), although I thought Keanu was a bit underused actually.

But Woody's story didn't feel necessary to me at all. Yet another "I fear change" story, and when you've already given him the perfect ending, it just didn't resonate for me to go back that well again.

Laughed a lot, but the only time I came remotely close to that usual Pixar emotional gut punch was at the beginning when they reshowed the part from TS3 where Andy gives the toys to Bonnie.

So you don't understand how someone could slightly prefer one great movie over another?

And I'll throw it back to you by asking, what scene in TS2 was as emotional as the ending of TS3?

Thinking Toy Story 4 might be a good first film to take my 3yr old son to the movies. I'll be curious to see how long it holds his attention.

Same here, buddy. Taking him to a matinee on Sunday and pretty excited, actually.

Like I said before, the whole story behind TS3 was ALREADY DONE IN TS2. Done better imo. The montage and song of Jessie's past is better than anything in TS3. And it's actually original.

And here's 10 scenes in TS2 that are funnier than anything in TS3.

1. Introduction of the dog.
2. Dinosaur playing the video game.
3. Buzz fighting Buzz.
4. Toys driving through toy store, meeting all the Barbie's
5. Woody's Roundup tv show
6. Woody meeting Jessie and Bullseye.
7. Toys crossing the street under cones.
8. Zurg breaking out
9. Buzz and Zurg
10. Jessie helping the dog - Buzz' reaction.

I could put more and that's off the top of my head.

There's just not as much creativity and not much laugh out loud humor in TS3.

As for TS3 ending, I barely remember it. I do remember sitting there thinking, "this has all been done before in TS2 with Jessie". But hey, you like what you like. I like what I like.

3 wasn't about humor. It was about the next phase of life of a Toy.

And now 4 has continued slash shown another possible path for the life of Toys.

As far as not remembering the ending of 3...well then hell I don't even know what to say to that. I think it is seriously one of the best endings to a movie in a series ever.

I love TS2, but come on man.

For some reason, funniest thing to me in 2 was Ham flipping through the channels on the tv, going past the right channel, then going all the way through them again.

Yep, that's what I thought when I was watching the toys prepare themselves for their deaths was "what a rip-off of the last one!"
