My three and five next month year old grandsons found that fact that the creepy dolls sort of jumped at you a big scary. They jumped too, but they sort of like mildly scary things. My four year old granddaughter wants to see it in a theatre she says. She has only watched movies at home to date. But she found the scenes with the wolves so scary in Beauty and the Beast they could not finish watching it so I am mildly concerned about her seeing it. Not my call. Her parents only let her watch G as a normal rule, with a few PG things when they have seen them first. This time they have not seen Toy Story.

I'll add that my three year old was freaked out by them, but mom took him back to see it again. He does scare pretty easily too so him asking to go back says it probably wasn't too bad.

Sitting inside Alamo drafthouse with kids right now waiting for this to start....just had mind blown

Anyone familiar with Alamo knows they show goofy clips of random stuff themed towards the movie you're about to see.....so for TS4 they're showing tons of old toy commercials

They showed the original commercial for slinky.....and just had my mind blown cause I never knew the slinky theme song was what's ren and stimpy used to make LOG.

We saw it at Alamo as well, and my wife said this exact same thing when that came on

I'm shocked y'all didn't know the slinky theme song. I thought that was something everybody knew, kinda like the Oscar Mayer wiener song.

Well....it was good....had parts that I liked and while the ending wasn't as good as 3 it was still nice....but I have a serious problem with the whole plot/message of TS4......it completely cheapens the entire point of TS3....

What's the general plot of TS3? Woody and the toys aren't being played with. Woodys going to go to college, while other toys think they were being thrown out so ditch Andy to go to day care. Woody tries to convince them that they should be loyal to Andy no matter the circumstances and stay together....and then realized Andy has grown up and to move on with Bonnie and stay loyal to her.

Now in TS4....beginning of film he's not being played with....finds his old squeeze Bopeep and says, "meh...screw Bonnie I don't care if she misses me I'm gonna chill with Tomb Raider Bopeep from now on."

Sorry this bugged the hell out of me.....

I thought TS3 was more about learning to move on and accept new stages of life while still treasuring the ones before. Just don't do it at daycare run by the toy mafia.

TS4 as of right now is the 6th highest grossing film of the year, just trailing right behind "How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World".

The Toy Story saga is really just a metaphor for life. We see it from the POV Andy, and we also see it from the POV of the toys. With TS3, the Andy's POV is about saying goodbye to your childhood, and from the toys POV, its about saying goodbye to your child. In TS4, we no longer see things from Andy's POV, and its strictly the toys, mainly Woody. Bonnie is irrelevant, she's part of the transition phase from being a parent to an empty nester. Woody is struggling with no longer being Andy's toy, and we see this by constantly bringing him up. He wants to stay loyal to Bonnie because it helps him cope with no longer being Andy's toy. When Buzz tells Woody that "She'll be okay", that's his way of telling him to go enjoy making life about you for once. Woody has become the retired parent that is now going to enjoy doing what he wants to do.

Is it just me or did y'all think the puppets in TS4 were the creepiest thing in any of the movies? Also did anyone else fee like they were watching a zombie movie when they were chasing Woody?

First of all, we LOVED the movie. But the dummies scared the crap out of my five year old. At one point I stepped out to use the restroom and there was a pop out by one of them and she screamed "I want my mommy!" and hurled herself into her big sister's lap, causing her to spill popcorn and soda everywhere. I guess she's more sensitive than most, because my friends have all told me that their kids of the same age weren't scared. Oh well, no long term harm done. She hasn't mentioned it since, so it must not have stuck with her.

Already surpassed "How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World" today. It is the highest grossing animated movie of the year so far. 5th highest grossing movie right now.

I hope you assured your daughter that it's perfectly fine to have an irrational fear of those Satan spawned dummies. My younger boy commented that "Dad would have set them all on fire or blown them to shreds with his 12 gauge riot shotgun" to which I responded "you're god damned right I would have".

Hate those things. Always have since some episode of the Twilight Zone I saw as a kid. They're the devil Bobby Boucher.

Was pretty underwhelmed by TS4. First half Woody sort of seemed like a jerk, doing things his own way, ignoring everyone else's opinions, unable to get over it with Andy already. I liked Forky and love Tony Hale from his time as Buster Bluth, but then he disappeared from the movie for like 20-25 minutes.

Really disappointed by the under-use of some of the supporting characters. Why bother hiring talent like Joan Cusack, Wallace Shawn, John Ratzenberger and Estelle Harris if you're only going to give them 5 lines each, and 3 of those lines are "Oh no, where's Woody!"

What happened to the romantic interest of Jessy/Buzz? Not even a single note about it. It felt a lot more like a TV movie than a blockbuster. I know it's made a lot of money but the story seemed really small.

On the positive, major ups to Key and Peel and Keanu Reeves. I would absolutely stand in line for Toy Story 5: The Adventures of Ducky, Bunny, and Duke Caboom.

All of this.

This movie disappointed.

Woody changing his mantra from TS3 to the new mantra of I'll hang with my old flame.

A throw away scene with Betty White, Mel Brooks, and other greats.

I was okay with the pity for Gabby and giving her a chance at a kid.

The OG supporting cast was mostly absent until the "RV Chase".

The ending had no emotional pull for me because of the shift from TS3.

Saw it this weekend and thought it was pretty good. My 5 year old has been doing forky impressions this whole week "Trash?"

My soon to be 4 year old has a forky from a happy meal and has been throwing him in trash cans now and laughing uncontrollably at it

I thought it was pretty good overall but still below TS1 and 3 for sure. Ducky, bunny and Duke were hilarious though

I think that toy story 4 hits too close to home for those that didn't like it. They're like woody, unwilling to move on.

Less than $83 million dollars away from joining the $1 billion dollar movie club. The Lion King already surpassed Toy Story 4.
