Y'all ruined this thread.

The fact that it's primarily non-"conservatives" tearing it down gives me hope that maybe the political humor may actually be innocuous and/or digestible.TCTTS said:

Kanye's ye is hardly the best in his catalog, yet it's still surprising to see the Chicago rapper absent from literally every single category except for Producer of the Year (non-classical). Sure, he's managed to go his whole career without a Grammy in any of the major categories (only the rap and R&B ones), but one has to wonder whether the lack of even a nomination has to do partially with the MC's especially divisive nature in 2018.
Alan has some good takes. He also likes shows I don't like and he also doesn't like shows I like.PatAg said:
Alan Sepinwall is the only reviewer I recognized and respect the opinion of, and he indicated it wasn't very good.
That said, comedy is about as subjective as it gets.

I just couldn't imagine having my enjoyment of a tv show or movie being ruined by political opinions.
This show very well could suck, but it won't be because they make fun of Trump (if they even do)
This was my thought as well after watching the trailer. Sadly, it looks and sounds like Avenue 5 may be better than this show. And Avenue 5 was not good.mazag08 said:
Can they just blend this show with Avenue 5?
This is how I feel and I voted for Trump. I'll be the first to point out that he constantly says dumb **** and I wish my buddy who is a high up engineer with Twitter would delete that sucker. I didn't mind when people made fun of his comments.ruddyduck said:
i don't care if anyone makes fun of trump or any other politician or public figure. i didn't vote for him and funny is funny. the problem is, it is seldom funny or unique at this point. twitter/social media is now basically a platform to attack trump/conservatives. same with network and cable news, same with newspapers, same with day time shows (which i don't watch), same with late night talk shows which seem to be more political commentary than entertainment at this point (also don't watch). even the commercials for those shows are full of political commentary.
for me, i don't take offense or care if people take political shots because i don't define myself in political terms. but it is hard not to notice all those jokes go only one way these days, they are usually mean-spirited (thus not very funny), recycled over and over, and used to beat the audience over the head with a certain ideology. it's everywhere you look, all day everyday.
to me it's all just...very boring and redundant.

Pls explain more about why you think the US Space Force makes complete sense.

An organization charged with managing our satellites and monitoring threats? Consolidating the brain power and man power responsible for everything above our sky, and relieving the Air Force from double duty so they can focus on what they are best at?
You thought this was about setting up a star fleet type of program didn't you?
Pretty sure there were folks in the 1940s who thought there was no need to separate the Army from the Army Air Corps.Quad Dog said:
I very briefly met an officer who was moving into Space Force at a hotel bar. It came up that I didn't see much point or the big difference from the existing Air Force Space Command. He defended the Space Force with two sentences that were full of meaningless corporate buzz words like integrate, strategize, and consolidate. I don't remember exactly what he said because we were in a bar and I was too amused by his corporate buzz word speak. Even the military can't escape pointless corporate buzz words to explain their mission.
when you have something good, why change it?PatAg said:
It didn't help that they only slightly altered the Starfleet Command Logo from Star Trek

How do we know that they didn't invent the logo?PatAg said:
