Didn't see this posted anywhere yet, Season 5 of The Expanse set to premiere on Amazon Prime on December 16th, with 3 episodes dropping first and the rest following a weekly release schedule.

Looks really good.

There are 4 eras of the Expanse in the book. The opening trilogy which is stellar. A really lackluster 4th book/season) that has interesting ideas but not really a great plot. And then this era we are about to get into is simply incredible. And then the 4th when they get to it, I don't know how they will do it because it is ambitious even by what this next series is about to do.

Caught up with the books, if they stick with source material the best is yet to come. Speaking of which the 9th book is confirmed for 2021 release date.

If you have wasted the golden opportunity to catch up on this show during the lockdown, then you ain't a sci-fi fan. Do yourself a favor and and get caught up with this show before December. I really enjoyed the book that corresponds with this season and can't wait for the premiere.

It's funny, the actor that plays Amos is a completely different look than I pictured when reading, but this guy is absolutely nails with it. Just a perfect portrayal.

One of my favorite things on TV in the last few years. I guess it also doesn't hurt that the old lady doesn't care about it so I can watch it whenever I want (we both work 24 hour shifts and watching ahead on shows we both watch is a big no-no)

I do the audio books and in one of them they made him sound like an idiot. I can't remember which one but the voice acting was bad.

I don't care what happens this season as long as we get to see Amos call Avasarala Chrissy with same conversation they had in the books.

Yeah I saw that. The show creators said it was a natural pause point for the series, which I definitely agree with. I get the impression that they still want to put the last three seasons out, but they may take a break for a while before doing it.

Spoilers for books 7-9

it sounds to me that if they did put a 7th - 9th seasons out, they would probably recast everyone. That makes it easier to do the 30 year gap than just aging everyone in the makeup room. On top of that, with all of the stuff surrounding Cas Anvar, this way you only have to write Alex out of the show for a season, instead of getting rid of his character from the storyline completely.

These guys have a lot of experience playing the network cancelled us game, so I really wouldn't be shocked to see them take a hiatus for a couple years then getting the show released somewhere down the line. That's what I hope at least. The last two books of the series (and the series finale that they are finishing writing now) deserve a chance to be seen on tv.

I wish this show was watched by more people to increase the likelihood of the last books good released later, but I definitely agree that it should end for now where it sounds like they're going to end it.

They can just end it after this season and then bring everyone back in 20 years to play out the last few books. No CGI needed to make them older!
