Is the thinking that the show will end at the time jump? Kind of a shame if so since the Laconian arc is the best along with the Inaros arc

Episode 1 spoilers
that's what I'm assuming. I watched the first episode last night and Holden was talking about the other species though, so who knows what they will do. I hope they remain as true to the books as possible though, and don't try to cram 4 books of story into a final 6th season.
I noticed that and the fact that the ship had the "free love" thing that was mentioned on Pa's ship in the book. I bet we see a mutiny after Inaros' speech. Then Drummer and gets sidelined or sent to Fred or Medina Station.MGS said:
For the book readers, I had the captions on and noticed that Drummer's crewmate's name was "Michio"

Episode 4 is out now. And it is explosive.

Sure, there's spaceships realized in a convincing manner, yeah there's that mysterious thing going on with something seemingly magical that every prestige show needs to have, heck, even the politicking and chess games are some of the best, but despite all that they capture humanity and human emotions so, so well. Like, who thinks of that rat backstory?
This show can go three dimensional chess, while staying so grounded in some incredible, weirdly relatable, characters.

Season 3 was so great.

My only hangup with the previous episode was the pressurized convex. not possible without insanely thick walls or reinforcement. Otherwise this show is great with space engineering and physics.

I haven't read past the third book so not reading the spoilers. Not sure it's worth conjecturing here, given others know exactly where this is all going, but I got to imagine that season 5 guessing based after ep 4: Mars (or rather the Martian military) has some much larger goals. No way are they just letting their civilization whither and some high ups are selling to the black market to just line their pockets. I'd suspect that giving Marcos Enaro stealth tech to coat the asteroids allows the Martian stealth fleet to go undetected, because Earth has realigned their stealth breaking satellites to look for more stealth asteroids instead of tracking Mars. The Martian Admiral even talked about the tactics of taking on the ring space, and talked about taking risks instead of holding back and calculating (also a swipe at Chrissy). I'm just not sure if their endgame is more than just taking over the ring space. Due they do that because they want to move all of Mars to a fully habitable planet on the other side of the gates? Do they also want to take control of Earth?

Crazy to think that we are halfway through the season and the crew is still in different places of the solar system. It was a good episode but I think this suffers from the very good/excellent episode that preceded it. I kind of wanted the plot to move forward faster. I haven't read the books but I'm waiting to see when and who gets to Marco first.

I really liked that episode, especially getting a better understanding of Naomi. She used to be my least favorite character, but she's growing on me as she discovers and gains confidence in her identity. Same with drummer.
