Well, sort of. Clinging to life on a pallet isn't what I'd call back! :-)

Where the hell are the rest of you? Just watched episode 17 Judgment. That's all I can watch with YouTube tv

Get Funimation or Crunchyroll.

Wow. Funimation plays a lot of commercials.

But thanks for the suggestion. At least I can watch it now..

Well now he's advanced to sitting up, talking, wheeling & dealing. He should be back to his normal ass-kicking self in an episode or two.

Well, looks like the band's getting back together for a final tour.

On a side note, my friend is catching up on AoT and I told him to text me just before he reached "Perfect Game" and "Hero" in my opinion the two best episodes of the whole show. Gosh, I kinda miss those times.

"Annie…fall."

Maybe the best two words of dialogue in the series. (Final episode of S1)

This show is such a trip. I'm sure I keep missing things with the subs, but I definitely have no clue where they are heading and how this is going to end up.

I googled "wari wari," which I hear the characters say pretty often. It is an informal Japanese way of saying "I'm sorry." Sort of like "my bad."

I will be listening for this going forward and see if they actually translate it in the subtitles.

It's got to be pretty rare for anime where basically an entire episode takes place in one single setting, right?
Shows how strong the writing is. This past episode reminds me of GOT s8 when they all meet in kings landing to show them the white walkers.

I remember saying to my wife how intense the episode was as it was going on, but looking back at it, not much really happened, did it?

I have no idea how they're going to wrap it up. I hate to see that the title of the next episode is Traitor. It's like, how many more betrayals can there be?

The entire evolution of this is beautiful.

I've been doing a rewatch, and it's amazing how many little one liners dropped in earlier seasons play themselves out in bigger plot lines.

Like being "born into this world."

The episode "from you 2000 years ago" aired today on dub. Holy crap was that a great episode, from his plea to Ymir to his announcement to the Eldians, Eren's english voice actor(Bryce Papenbrook) has really outdone himself especially since the time skip. I know ya'll like being on the cutting edge and watching the latest episode but I would highly recommend the dubs as they have continuously gotten better. It's also nice being able to enjoy the crazy scenes instead of reading the whole time.

As a neat note the very first episode is titled "to you in 2000 years" which is a really neat tie into this episode.

Holy ****, that was action packed! And Shadis and Magath going out like a couple of badasses!

Next week is supposed to be the season finale. It'll be interesting to see if they manage to wrap up the whole story, or if we'll have a follow-up movie or miniseries to cover the last couple of manga chapters.

I don't see how they're going to wrap all of this up in one episode unless it's an hour long or more.

On Falco...

The Turtle Quirk YouTube channel has a good video which explains Falco's jaw titan has some aspects of the beast titan because Falco has some of Zeke's spinal fluid in him. Zeke's beast titan was a monkey because Zeke had a lttile monkey doll as a kid, and that is the animal he felt close to. If you watch Falco through the credits scenes, Falco likes birds. So, he has the wicked talons, and his jaw is a beak.

Guess it shouldn't be much of a surprise, but looks like we're getting the totally, for real this time, final final end of the series next year.

At least we got to see some proper rumbling before the wait.

What an ending. Total tone shift from the first part of the episode to the last moments. I love how Season 4 has filled the gaps from the timeskip.

I kept checking the run time last night and couldn't believe how much they were going to try and cram into that episode. I do appreciate it weaving back into what happened when they got to Marley and where Eren made some of the changes that he did. I felt like this part was a lot more jumbled and am glad there will be some more time to explore the final part of this. It just sucks we have to wait until 2023.

There is a third part to the final season? Jesus.

This latest episode confused the hell out of me until it came back to the present. I was thinking this was some kind of alternate reality dream by Mikasa.

Was it mentioned at some point that the group had traveled to Marley before present day? I don't remember that at all which was why i was confused.

I believe that was the start of this season - where Eren was faking the injury (that this episode was showing) and where they had plotted the sneak attack. It does feel like forever ago where this took place.

After everything I read, I thought this was going to be the end/end and can't believe we have to wait for another part.

I may have to go back and look for the mention then. There was never any "footage" of them there before so it must have just been a mention or this is just another "retcon" kind of reveal after the fact. Not really a retcon per se...just can't think of a better word.

They infiltrated Marley to assess it and also to try to find people they could reach out to for prospects of peace.

Eren witnessed the depth of hatred for Eldians and realized peace wasn't possible. He cried as he watched the good people the rumbling would kill. Even though there could not be peace, he recognized that these were just people. Many of them good people.

For a moment, he considered just running away with Mikasa to live out his last 4 years in happiness, and to not be responsible for world genocide. He asked Mikasa why she loved him. She blushed but ended up saying he was like family.

So, when Mikasa thought back to that moment, she wondered if world history might have changed if she just shared her true feelings.

This flashback also gives some weight to when Eren was fighting the war hammer titan in the square in Marley. Mikasa helped save him, and that was the first time they'd seen each other since that night on the hill, when he asked her why she loved him.

But when? Was this simply an off screen event that happened between seasons that they are retroactively adding?

I'm just trying to make sure I'm not crazy. Pretty complex show and I've missed stuff before.

This was in "the gap" between seasons 3 & 4. They allude to it, but you don't get to actually see it until that flashback.

I mean, you do get to see Eren there. But that's after he split from the other scouts.

They're not retroactively adding it. They've mentioned it several times in previous episodes, and flashing back to Eren's time there is a pretty common story telling tactic that has been used a lot in this show. In fact, I thought this was one of the least confusing flashbacks that they have had.

There was a big gap between season 3 and 4, that's how there as time to build all the trains and ships, as well as eliminate all the Titans on the island. That's why Eren only has four years left to live now.
